THEY SENT ME TO A MENTAL INSTITUTION FOR BEING SLIGHTLY SAD ABOUT BEING BULLIED, THEY WITHHELD DOCUMENTS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS WHEN I TRANSFERRED, THEY LET ME ACT UP IN CLASS CONSTANTLY, AND PUT ME IN SPECIAL ED BC I WAS BEHIND BECAUSE THEY NEVER BOTHERED TRYING. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM.

You have to beg to have any type of feedback on your child. My child was punch during recess and they wanted to suspend him as well, victimize the victim. The administration DOES NOT communicate with parents UNLESS it's to get $ from you. Never answer emails, and the front desk is RUDE with an ATTITUDE. Extremely unprofessional. Teachers just teach to the test. AVOID!

This school is literally the best out of the elementary schools that my children have ever attended. From the moment I spoke to Ms Genovese, until now, Every single encounter has been nothing short of all things amazing! My daughter has some special needs and on top of their already winning attitudes and care for the GE students, they are 100 % participating in their special education program with care, concern and a true desire to see theses babies blasting forward ! The communication from Jan Jones’ team to parents, is communication to be envied. They make me feel safe leaving my child in their hands. They make me feel like she is seen, heard, understood and rallied for at this school! They make you feel like family and I will forever be grateful that my daughter gets to experience Elementary School here! What a privilege ! Side Note: school is squeaky clean Cross Guard team ( impeccable ) which is a huge deal I could go on but I hope this helps! If you bring your child here, just know, you got the golden ticket !

Dennis Ortwein Elementary is an amazing school with a strong, welcoming community. The teachers truly care and go above and beyond to support every student. The administration is supportive, visible, and committed to creating a positive school culture. The House System builds leadership and belonging, and programs like Ortwein Innovators give students fun, meaningful ways to explore their interests. Overall, it’s a place where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
