Holdrum Middle School

Nobody moves to Old Tappan NJ because of the beaches. As almost all parents we invested a lot of money in a house because people told us the TBD was good. But the school has surprised us. They are not good as people told us. THEY ARE EXCELLENT. It is making worth every penny that we invested to be closed to this school. They really care of children. They understand children. I feel they even help us to raise our children. It is VERY organized. The principal is amazing. The teachers could not be better. My son who used to hate school, now he LOVES going to the school. Their academic program is very good. My son had challenges to adapt on the first days, they provided us ALL psychological support. We are really impressed with this school. This school is amazing.

This school has serious issues with transparency and communication. As a parent, I repeatedly requested data, updates, and clarity around my child’s services and progress, but responses were delayed or ignored. There is a lack of coordination and cooperation when concerns are raised, which makes it difficult to advocate effectively for your child. Families of children with special needs should expect open communication and accountability, and unfortunately that has not been my experience here.

The teachers and staff are passionate and care for the children with love. Organized by the school, the big and small events are not only fun and diverse but also a great opportunity to make friends with other family members in the community. My child and I love this school entirely and are satisfied with every aspect of it.

St John's Academy is an amazing, faith driven school. The interim principal is FANTASTIC. She has faced a number of challenges thrown at both her and the school with such poise and respect. She has truly made St John's a school that is safe, fun, and full of love. The teachers are well educated and treat the parents and students with the upmost respect. I know from personal experience how great this school is. It wouldn't be half the school it is without the leadership of the interim principal and the amazing faculty and staff. We love St John's and recommend it to anyone and everyone!
