I appreciate the school and the teachers—they’ve been wonderful. However, I’ve had a very different experience with the new security officer. Unlike the previous security officer, who was consistently kind and welcoming, the current officer often comes across as rude and selectively unfriendly, particularly toward non-white parents.I’ve personally observed him being friendly and courteous to some individuals smiling, opening car doors, and greeting them warmly in the morning —while showing noticeably negative body language and unwelcoming expressions toward other parents. On one occasion, While some kids are warmly greeted in the morning, I saw him raise his voice at a non-white child telling them to hurry because they were late, which felt inappropriate given that his role is to ensure student safety, not enforce attendance.Several parents have expressed similar concerns. The behavior can feel selective and creates discomfort rather than a sense of safety and inclusion. Security personnel play an important role in fostering a welcoming environment, and it’s concerning when their actions seem to have the opposite effect in the society. Sometimes to the point of escalating tension in the society hiding their anger under the uniform.

I have 2 daughters in Columbus Elementary and couldn't be more happy. My daughters are getting 100% support for their academic and outside the school activities. They are both taking a lot of time off from their regular learning to be able to follow their dreams. The school Principal and their teachers are very supportive and proud of their achievements. "We are trying to create opportunities for our students, that's wat we do here" Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement. I don't know if we could do what we do in different school.

Hilltop Elementary has been an excellent school for my three boys. From the moment we moved to Lodi, the staff and teachers made us feel welcomed and supported. All three of my sons have thrived here academically, socially, and emotionally. They became especially strong in Math and Social Studies, and the foundation they received at Hilltop continues to show, even now that one of them is in high school.The school’s values, dedication, and genuine care for students make a real difference. I’m truly grateful for the exceptional education Hilltop has provided for my family. Highly recommended!

My daughter has attended this school for the last 2 years and she has learned tremendously. Her reading level is above average. The teachers are loving and caring. Love this school!

Both of my boys love it here and are thriving (pre-K4 and Kindergarten). It's a great environment with an engaged staff and principal. They are both learning a lot and demonstrating their progress at home. They have fun events always keeping the kids and parents involved as much as they can.
