St Marks School

The experience overall last year was perfect. Now the teacher is just plain lazy and the Principal doesn’t care. Do not send your child to this school.

My kids each went here for pre-K through 5th grade. All the teachers were solid, and many were absolutely wonderful. It's a great community, drawing kids from the neighborhood and also from across the city, which makes it a much more diverse school than its own immediate neighborhood. So kids get to know classmates from a range of races, religions, social classes, and family types. It's been a great home to my kids.

We can’t say enough about Jean Lyle. It is just an absolutely wonderful place for children. The teachers are so experienced, kind, and approachable. I can tell (as a teacher myself) that the units have taken years to develop. The space is huge with plenty of opportunities for kids to move around, get the wiggles out, and work on gross-motor skills, and there are so many creative and fun ways to work on fine-motor skills. The other families are wonderful as well. My daughter loves going here, and we are so grateful.

I really liked this school. in fifth grade some of the kids were mean to me and others, but the years before that best time ever. of course I have to give a shout out to Mrs Jensen she was my fifth grade teacher and she was awesome. she would tell us funny stories, when she heard about some of the bullying every Wednesday we would gather up as a class and talk about ways to solve it. someone give this woman a promotion she heck deserves it.

I've been a parent of two MA kids since kindergarten, and I can say this school has been a great blessing!MA offers a rare combination: exceptional academics and deep spiritual formation in a nurturing, values-driven environment. The faculty are highly qualified & deeply invested in my kids’ holistic growth. They challenge students to think critically, lead with integrity. We have even become personal friends with faculty over the years!The community is wonderful. We’ve felt seen and supported. The relationships our kids have with teachers, coaches, and peers are shaping them into confident, compassionate young adults. My kids are highly engaged in their academics and extracurriculars.
