Read what parents are saying about Trinity Lutheran SchoolI tested the water with one of my kids and ended up sending all 4 of them to Trinity. It is a great school. I would highly recommend.
Posted by a community member on 11/21/2016We moved to Trinity from a local public school and have been very happy with the change. It's not often that you enter a school and encounter person after person who genuinely seems happy to be there, but at Trinity, this is the rule rather than the exception. We have found the staff to be very loving and nurturing with an emphasis on encouraging growth in the individual child rather than focusing on the group and fitting into a certain mold. I highly recommend Trinity to any family who seeks a loving environment balanced by appropriate discipline and educational guidelines.
Posted by a parent on 5/14/2016Trinity is an amazing school that has helped my child grow, develop, learn and excel. A variety of learning techniques are utilized to enrich the student experience and I appreciate that the school focuses on respect for one another and Christian values. We have found that both the church and school provide a wonderful environment for our entire family. I recommend that anyone considering an education at Trinity come in and check it out –you will be pleasantly surprised.
Posted by a parent on 6/22/2015Trinity is a wonderful school with loving, Christian teachers and pastors who are passionate to share the Good News of our Lord and Savior. Trinity also has for generations been outstanding in academics and has always more than prepared our children for successful futures. There have been some changes in the last couple years, yes, but ones that were needing to be made in order for the school to grow and continue to flourish according to God's plan and will. As a parent, I fully support and trust the decisions being made by the entire ministry of Trinity. My children love Trinity and it is just like home to them. They love the church, the school, the teachers, the children and all the activities. One of my children said to me recently that the reason he loves Trinity is because it is ALL about Jesus and that is the truth. The teachers wrap their arms around the students and care about their success in and out of the classroom. Trinity is and will remain a wonderful church and school for generations to come.
Posted by a parent on 6/16/2015This school and church has a very false pretenses. The last few years the school has gone from great to unbearable. The award winning principal was forced to resign with no explanation to the parents in 2013, the vice principle is being let go in 2015 the end of this year due to lack of funds of students departures. The new principal for 15/16 year is under qualified he received the job because his families are members not for his experience. The recourse room will no longer have a qualified teacher to run the program, The program at which the school has used in the TAG area will no longer be available due again to lack of funds and cut backs they will make up there own and charge you additional for it "at least they did in past years", The second pastor is also leaving for reasons unknown. The atmosphere the last few years have went from loving, family, christian school to unfriendly hallways with teachers not enjoying there jobs; school board members acting as if they can do whatever they want with no regards to the bigger picture for the future. If you are not a church member move aside you will be treated as a second class parent, known as the B team. If your not on the A team you will know it. That includes all functions, clubs and sports, you name it. The school has turned into a clicky place so get ready to feel like an outsider and so will your child. It is unfortunate the school has decide to follow this path last year 2013 - 80 students left and more are on there way out this year 2015. good luck on seeing the schools test score as they dont show them and as parents we dont even receive the Iowa score for our own children. Most of the students have to get outside tutoring during the school year and summer. Maybe once there are new head leaders in place things will change but it appears the school with suffer and continue to fall before proper measures will take place. If you choose to send your children good luck!!!

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been going to this school since October 2023.Everyday he comes home and tells me he is getting bullied. Every time I try to address the issue, the school staff talks in circles or take their time getting in contact with me. They try to make it seem like it’s ONLY my child. They will NOT allow me to do a sit in on a classroom teaching either and requested one.Other parents have also said to me that the school is incompetent and negligent.Parent Review2mo ago - Dresden Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a joke. Some teachers are great, while others bully their students. Students with an IEP are not having their needs met. The lack of communication between staff and parents is something that could be worked on. They are always short staffed and always having busing issues (my child was late to school every single day last year as well as getting home). It was never communicated from transportation or the school that they were late, everyday! I just watched my students grades drop over the year and their self esteem because they'd get picked on for being tardy by 15 minutes *almost every morning! There are very few teachers at this school that are the exception. This school has had 3 principals in 4 years, if that says anything. It all went downhill after they made the decision to get rid of the principal Mrs Pritchard after a transportation issue that was more so the superintendents fault than anything. Staff will lie about your students IEP needs being met when they're not providing the services they're required to by law. We withdrew last year. So happy we made that decision and wished we would've sooner.Parent Review1y ago - Plumbrook Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the teaching is good not to bad but for the self emotion I don’t they care so much and they don’t punish the kids who bully my son at all and they don’t care about this thing beside that for the safety I would give them zero point because I dropped my son at the front office so he could go faster to the class he has only 2 minutes left but who ever was in the from told him you still can walk to your class and she let him go but as soon as he walked to there the class was close and she didn’t let him in and I wasn’t with him they left my son outside alone and my friend called to tell me my son is outside I had to come back for him and when I was telling the front office about what happened they didn’t gave me any attention and they were so rude they are not professional at all they have a bad behaviour and attitude and they are not responsible at allOther Review10mo ago - Browning Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm an old student of browning, that school is full of bullies, they are disrespectful in so many ways, and the current principal takes all the boys' sides. the teachers are amazing, and I have good memories of the school, but most of my memories there are horrible, if I had a choice to go back to that school id save myself the trauma and hate I received, I don't advice you go there, and when I grow up if I have kids, I don't plan to continue the tradition of them going to Browning. I'll send them to a better school, and over all I don't believe browning deserves to be one of the top three schools in Michigan. the education system is whack.Other Review9mo ago - West Utica Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot say enough good things about this school. My 5th grader was a mid-year transfer to this school. He transferred with an active IEP, not only did he not miss any services, but his IEP meeting and transition have been seamless. His entire time, his mainstream teacher, his special ed teacher, his therapists and social worker all KNOW my son and have a plan to get him to his goals. During his IEP meeting, my concerns were heard and validated, my suggestions were implemented without question. His teacher is amazing with communication daily. We are just starting the process of transitioning to West Utica for my son who will be in kindergarten next year. He also has an IEP and extensive medical needs. Before he is even a student there, the admin and kinder team are working to make this transition seamless and ensure his needs are all met well before the next school year commences. I am confident that my boys are not only SAFE in this school, but are being well cared for. I am also confident that this happens because of the leadership of Principal Woods.Parent Review2y ago
