I love this school. The principal is caring and knows a lot about teaching kids. The staff works hard and cares about the students. The parents are very involved.
Posted by a parent on 10/10/2014This is a great school within the inner city of Detroit. 90% of students attend everyday! The teachers and the principal of the school work very hard to make sure the students succeeds.

The principal Mrs. Matthew is such a caring individual who knows most of the students on a first name basis! You can find her walking the school grounds in the AM making sure the students are arriving to school safe

Threats of violence are a daily occurrence. Fights are normal and expected at least a few times a week. There is no consequence for having your phone out in the hallway, the classroom, or anywhere really.Special education services are very limited. There are only a handful of IEPs in the entire school. The library is a tragically under supported. The books are thrown everywhere and students often use the area to skip class and socialize. Laptops are provided on a 1-to-1 basis in most classes. Smartboards are in most classes. The lunchroom and gym areas are small. There are sinks and bathrooms in every classroom. 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school use to be a great school i have three kids that attended this school but i gave this school so many chances and i have now removed my two younger kids the school has really just went completely down this wasn't even my kids neighborhood school but i was driving my kids here anyway because it was a great school the administration changes is what really brought the school down the great teachers have left tge classrooms are still overcrowded my neice and nephew still attend here and they have horror stories on how out of control the classrooms are now my son who is now a 7th grader wasn't learning alot last year now at his new school he is struggling to adjust in some classes where he use to be a straight A student that goes to tell you how much he learned at Ronald Brown in 6th grade my previous reviews were removed from this site i guess they don't want people to know the truth.Parent Review8y ago - Carleton Elementary School
