Central Woodlands 5/6 School

My oldest child attented Ada for all 5 years, and my younger two are still there. When teacher assignment letters come out at the end of summer, parents and students are worried at all about what teacher it will say because they're all so amazing. My 3 kids have 3 very different personalities and learning styles, and I am amazed at how the teachers adjust each child's learning experience to be just right for that student. Ada also has a strong community feel among the families, which is really fun!

My kids have been educated in 2 different states and 6 different schools (3 Forest Hills Northern schools), and I have been most pleased with Collins. The teachers are outstanding; they are truly engaged with the students' needs and make learning fun. The school is proactive in providing social-emotional support. They communicate well with parents. The principal LOVES the kids, is super engaged and attentive to parent concerns and feedback. The student body is quite diverse for (suburban) West Michigan. We love our school district and particularly proud of our Northern schools. Go Huskies!

The Principal is amazing and very dedicated. Every teacher my son has had has been amazing. The staff in general is also excellent. My son has ADHD and the school has been so accommodating even though he doesnt have an IDP or a 504. He gets lots of 1:1. While most districts in the US are cutting on extracurricular, this school provides 2 sessions of Spanish a week, art, music, PE and workshops on how to be a kind person and a nice friend. I love this school and I cannot wait for my second one to go there next Fall.

We have loved every bit of ACS the last 3 years we have been there. We made the move from a local public school and it has been night and day difference. Our children are seen, heard and cared for they aren't just a number or a test score. Every staff member at ACS cares for each child as a whole person. They care about their individual needs and how to help families raise educated, respectful, well-rounded, productive members of society.
