Thornapple Elementary School

My oldest child attented Ada for all 5 years, and my younger two are still there. When teacher assignment letters come out at the end of summer, parents and students are worried at all about what teacher it will say because they're all so amazing. My 3 kids have 3 very different personalities and learning styles, and I am amazed at how the teachers adjust each child's learning experience to be just right for that student. Ada also has a strong community feel among the families, which is really fun!

This school has fantastic teachers who are very engaged with the students. I have had two kids at the school and both have had dedicated teachers. My youngest struggled with reading early on but has improved drastically with heir programs and is now performing at or above where he needs to be. The principal is an excellent leader who communicates regularly with newsletters, occasional video updates and helps orchestrate many reading challenges throughout the year. My kids love the "specials" too. In addition to the traditional curriculum they get art, music, gym, library and Spanish every week. The parent and family involvement in the school is amazing as well.

We have loved every bit of ACS the last 3 years we have been there. We made the move from a local public school and it has been night and day difference. Our children are seen, heard and cared for they aren't just a number or a test score. Every staff member at ACS cares for each child as a whole person. They care about their individual needs and how to help families raise educated, respectful, well-rounded, productive members of society.
