5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe current principal is in no way qualified to oversee any child who struggles with a learning disability. There are numerous instances of open discrimination, deprivation of valuable classroom time, zero accountability, and consistent victim blaming. There is an outright refusal to acknowledge the adults in the school set the tone for kids who simply learn differently, instead choosing to engage in a years long power struggle over the need to be right, rather than the need to advocate for all children and their right to a fair and equitable educational experience. I have 2 other children enrolled who do not have those challenges and they have, thus far, had a good experience there.Parent Review2y ago2 Reviews - Brooklyn Park Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the second year for my child at this school, and will be the last. The school main objective doesn’t move me as a school that wants the children to pursue successful goals or ambitions far as learning. As I stated previously the homework is nothing more than the same every week, I honestly feel that this school is in need of a drastic change. The statistics clearly shows elementary schools in the radius of less than 4miles doing drastically better. I understand it’s on the parents as much as it’s on the teachers so I’m not condemning the teachers. I’m just unpleased with the fact this school is rated 2/10 and could be doing so much better.Parent Review6y ago12 Reviews - Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLakeland is a great school. They have a diverse staff, older experienced teachers and new teachers full of energy. Most of the teachers are very nice. They go the extra mile for the students. The teachers are creative. My children like going to school every day. My son participates in sports and the afterschool program. My daughter does the afterschool program and arts in school. The school has a great partnership with different programs in the community. My children can walk to the park, sports fields and clubs afterschool and on the weekends. I feel safe sending my children to Lakeland.Parent Review4y ago13 Reviews
