Read what parents are saying about Captain Shreve High SchoolGreat school culture and climate. Very diverse student body but feels like a family. Fantastic administration, faculty and coaching staff.
Posted by a teacher on 11/10/2019Big enough to offer many courses and clubs but small enough for faculty to know you by name. Really feels like home. Proud to have the 2016 Caddo Parish student of the year and Louisiana high school Teacher of the Year!!
Posted by a teacher on 7/25/2016Strong academics! Teachers are excellent! Athletically -fairly strong in all sports except for football and lacrosse. Coaching is the problem in those two sports... not the kids. If they could fix these two spots it would truly be an overall area powerhouse
Posted by a parent on 4/28/2014In my opinion, this is the BEST school in the Shreveport/Bossier area!!!! My son went to Shreve for 4 years and received a top notch education in the magnet program! He loved Shreve and loved playing football ! I would recommend Shreve to parents and kids who are serious about an education....this is NOT a school for slackers!!! GO GATORS!!!
Posted by a parent on 12/11/2012Outstanding principal, excellent teachers and the best facilities in northwest Louisiana. The emphases at Shreve is on academics and leadership development. High quality, diverse, goal oriented student body.Long tradition of military academy appointements, top ROTC program. It is a dual magnet/neighborhood school, Always very competitive in athletics and a full range of extracurricular activities, - exactly what you would hope for in a high quality AAAAA school.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt truly has not been a good experience for my daughter nor me as a parent. My daughter has a disability. Some of the staff don't know how to talk to children or other adults with respect. I was trying to wait but things are getting worse so I want to remove my daughter so she can start over in a different environmentParent Review4y ago - Broadmoor STEM Academy

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child faces challenges & he’s had the toughest time at University due, to the lack of staff not being educated concerning students with challenges. I was forced to place him at University & told my child had to attend the district school. Every year my child has faced some sort of discrimination due to challenges beyond my child’s control.Parent Review5mo ago
