Strong administration. K-5 is strong, excellent teachers who genuinely care about each student, and help each student be the best version of themselves. Overall they deserve a 5 star rating. 6-8th grade leaves a lot to be desired. Teachers lack in these grades significantly from the previous grades.

My girls have received an excellent education there, the test scores at this school are amazing, but most importantly my children have made great friendships with their peers and they love going to school. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagevery nice teachers, but the leadership such as the principals are questionable. two fights happened in one school year, and it took them almost a month and a half to find out. also, melissa green was very rude, and extremely nosy. the secretaries at the front desk were a 6/10, two of them were nice and the other two were rude and dismissive. teachers don't care about bullying until the victim fights back. wouldn't recommend as an amazing school, but it's not like you're gonna get jumped or anything. 3/5 rating.Other Review1y ago - Shawanoe Elementary School

I tried to bring my concerns up to the principal and she brushed it off. I got a call from DCF the day after I reported everything to the district. Not really a coincidence. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff and leaders at this school and in this district were not people we wanted influencing the development of our children. We left the district after numerous examples of incompetence, poor and even disrespectful communication, and a general posture of defiance in response to our genuine concerns. The principal is inexperienced, which seems to be the source of so many missteps. We know from other families there’s a growing discontent with the leadership and a hope that the principal’s tenure is short. Perhaps the school has a chance to recover or redirect with new leadership.
