Read what parents are saying about St. Xavier Catholic SchoolSt. Francis Xavier Catholic School is not perfect. No school is perfect. St. Xavier's is a safe learning environment and students have a lot of one-on-one time with their teachers. Every student is is given the chance to excel in academics, extra-curricular activities, and to learn about and pray to God. High school students have the opportunity to participate in many extra-curricular activities. Many of the high school students participate in choir, band, FBLA, sports, Scholar's Bowl, forensics, and in clubs such as art and chess. We attend Mass every Friday and Holy Days of Obligation. We are a small but mighty school. We are the Rams!
Posted by a community member on 2/21/2024St. Xavier has been a great school for my children! I have several in the elementary grades of the school, and they love it! The school certainly is clearly Catholic, but the goal is always to communicate that Catholicism without forcing the kids to be Catholic. But you can see how Catholicism and Academia interact with each other in ways that make sense. It is an accredited school both by the State of Kansas and by its own Diocesan Accrediting organization. The school is definitely small, but that also helps make it a more family experience, as all the students can come together to help each other learn as well as focus on their own grade's subjects. St. Xavier is an environment I appreciate since it remains connected to well-studied science, math, and history, without devolving into the modern social phenomena taking over public schools. There's definitely a difference between adhering to natural concepts and deeply-known truths and being respectful of others, and ultimately peddling unproven unscientific unnatural concepts as if they were consistent with what we know about human beings. Further, St. Xavier makes a point of not hiding information from parents unlike my experience of the local school district. It further incorporates parents into the learning efforts of their students so that the school remains cooperative with parents in the teaching enterprise, and doesn't take it away. While the small school does have many extracurricular activities and sports, it doesn't have all the ones some people prefer. However, students are no longer kept from participating with other district students since Kansas passed legislation allowing students who do not attend district schools to participate in those activities not provided by their own school. So this is an exciting opportunity to do the activities my children love in both places, while receiving a better, safer, more familial, more academically excellent, and more faith-oriented education they'd never get at any public school.
Posted by a parent on 2/15/2024Three of my children attend St. Francis Xavier Catholic School. The school is welcoming, the students are respectful, and the teachers are devoted. Their educational expectations are above average, and their devotion to the Catholic Faith is pervasive.
Posted by a parent on 1/17/2024I have really enjoyed seeing my children flourish at this school. The teachers really care and engage and with students. Classes are small.
Posted by a parent on 1/15/2024St. Xavier has been a wonderful school for our family. My children have been able to attain an excellent faith-based education in a safe and supportive learning environment. The small class sizes allow each child the opportunity to grow academically, spiritually, and personally. The Pre-k through 12 campus is a huge plus for families with children in various grade levels considering the convenience of one drop off/pick up time and similar activities.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers at this school go above and beyond for the kids that come into this building. This school has a high amount of emotional trauma that the students bring in with their backgrounds and the teachers make amazing growth with all of them.Teacher Review6mo ago - Westwood Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attended Westwood this year. His teacher went above and beyond to meet his academic needs. He immediately made friends and felt connected to staff. Prior to Westwood he was struggling academically. After a year at this school he was on grade level in every subject and had straight A's!Parent Review3y ago - Eisenhower Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorked at this school for one year and was done. The administration was toxic to me and the staff. I never got the support I needed from administration or the parents. I’m so glad I got out when I did. No teacher should have to put up with i put up with. This school and this district is where teacher careers go to die.Teacher Review8mo ago - Spring Valley Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was at Spring Valley from 2nd grade to 5th and because of the staff at this school he brought home his first straight A report card half way through his moddle school year. He struggled for so long and as a parent that is hard to watch. We never got the help he needed until we arrived at Spring Valley Elementary. With the foundation Spring Valley has given him I know he will shine for many years to come. To the teachers, para educators and principal that helped him get back on track and really saw and accepted him.....Ms. Day, Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Deines, Mrs. Cox, Mrs. Howard and Mrs. Jackson.....Thank You!Parent Review3y ago - Larry Dixon Center for Innovative Studies
