We transferred in for junior high and our experience has been wonderful! They are able to challenge students who are excelling and provide extra support for those who need it. The IB curriculum is great, creating more project based learning experiences for students, which is a more effective way for student learning.

Haugan is an exemplary school where students are truly accepted and inspired to become life-long learners. I truly believe that the leaders at Haugan put kids first. Each teacher promotes so much student engagement and a true ownership of their learning. The classroom communities are fostering well-rounded students who embrace learning, each other and the world around them.

My kid was being bullied on multiple occasions, I asked for meetings and all they ever did was guilt me and tell me that there’s “nothing we can do about it”. I was threatened by parents and my kid got threatened as well, do not come to this school if you want safety, or education. They don’t even help the students grow in wha they’re supposed to learn! They let the kids do whatever they want! Teachers don’t care about your kids. Don’t go here!!

Worst school to send your child too no rules at all behavior is all over the place the school is not teaching kids in a level they should be my kid gets hit left and right nothing is done . Principle can never speak she’s always “at a meeting” I’ve tried to get a parent congress with other parents can’t and only one ESL class insane

Our family had an extremely troubling experience with Palmer School, particularly in how my special-needs son was treated by both staff and administration.From our perspective, there was a clear lack of understanding, compassion, and appropriate support for his disability-related needs. Instead of feeling that the school was working collaboratively with us to help him succeed, we repeatedly felt that he was being treated unfairly and that his needs were being viewed through a biased lens.The situation became so serious that I ultimately felt I had no reasonable option other than to request an emergency transfer out of Palmer. No parent should reach the point where they believe removing their child from a school is necessary to protect that child’s emotional well-being and ability to feel safe at school.What concerns me most is that this was not simply a disagreement about teaching style or school policy. Our experience involved repeated interactions with teachers and administrators that left us deeply concerned about how a child with special needs was being treated and supported.Parents of children with IEPs, disabilities, behavioral needs, or other special-education needs should pay very close attention to how concerns are handled, document communications carefully, and advocate strongly for their child.I sincerely hope Palmer School takes a hard look at its practices, staff training, special-education culture, and the way families raising concerns are treated. My son deserved understanding, dignity, appropriate support, and a safe educational environment. Based on our family’s experience, we did not believe he was receiving that at Palmer.

Our son attended Peterson for his 8th grade when we moved in the area and he grew emotionally and academically so much during that year. He made lasting friendships and wished he had attended Peterson since the biggening.We are so thankful to his homeroom teacher Mr. Butterfield who was a great mentor to him during his last year of middle school.Peterson will always have a special place in our hearts as the positive effects it had on our child were beyond education. In just one year It nourished his belonging feelings with its unique community atmosphere. Principal Nieves has poured her heart to make this school a welcoming place for the kids to want to learn and grow. We can only imagine the hard work and dedication it takes and will be forever grateful. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving day and Peterson is one of the best things that happened to us last year.

Teachers are okay some better than others. Principal doesn't really do what is supposed to be done by a principal. He downplays problems with bullying and gets offensive when you want a meeting with the other child who is bullying yours parents.
