Read what parents are saying about St Angela Elementary SchoolMy granddaughter attended this school from 3rd-8th grades. They taught her so much and had plenty of extra curricular activities as well. She felt safe and enjoy her educational experience.
Posted by a community member on 6/30/2021I absolutely love St. Angela School. First all the previous principle Ms. O gave my children a chance to attend St. Angela when I thought that they wouldn't be able to. The best thing that I ever could have done for my children. The school is very enriching and has wonderful staff and dedicated teachers who are really there to help children reach their full potential. I also love the fact that it is a religious school. My children pray everyday even at home. I have a daughter who attended St. Angela for 7th and 8th grades and it taught her so much. She is a sophomore in high school now and she is using what was taught to her in St. Angela and is doing very well. I have 3 boys attending St. Angela, ages 13, 12, and 7. They are not attending this year due only to financial problems and if it weren't for that, all of them would be graduating from St. Angela. With that being said, the school Ms. O, and now principle Mrs, Lawler gave my family a chance and I am very thankful for that. And I am very thankful for SR. Maryellen for believing in my children. Thank you very much SR Maryellen. I have good children and they love this school and will miss it dearly. S. Robinson

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children have graduated from this school and I will miss it very much. Wonderful sense of community. The general music teacher is exceptionally strong and runs a steel band program that is one in a million. My children both enjoyed their years at Hatch and flourished. The oldest has been successful in middle school, the youngest is poised and ready. They both formed many excellent friendships that endure.Parent Review3y ago - Brunson Math & Sci Specialty Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience this school has been improving. The school is under new leadership and has recently moved back to a CPS. In the past advanced courses such as Algebra wasn’t an option because there wasn’t a certified Algebra endorsed teacher. Howe has offered Algebra for the last two academic years. I’m year 1 66% of the students that took the Algebra Exit exam passed. In year two 100% of the Algebra Exit exam passed. Teachers are educated and dedicated to providing a great learning experience. The SEL supports are second to none. All students that have an IEP are receiving services per their plan. Safety within the school is no issue the surrounding community could use some help and that’s the job of the City of Chicago. Lets not forget that schools such as Howe are over 100 years old and the building was not maintained as it should have been, but this new administration has updated the facilities. They have been making connections with businesses in the community. Websites like this don’t take those key factors into account and they also never dawn the halls of these schools. Ask yourself why are all the schools serving a majority of low income students always at the bottom? If we know that providing proper resources and personnel would help why haven’t the resources been allocated. This school is one without a gifted program, but there are gifted students at every grade level. Get to know the people, the community and then produce narratives based on firsthand experiences. The information in this site Thats being shared is from 2008, the administration is wrong, the information is wrong.Other Review9mo ago - Lewis Elementary School
