Queen Of All Saints School

Two children attended Edgebrook. The school prepared them for the rigors of highly competitive selective enrollment high schools. The school benefits from a highly involved and supportive parent community.

We have two children at the school and we've been there 4 years. Teachers are consistently high quality (effective, well trained in pedagogy and curriculum, and strong classroom managers). Several teachers we have had are some of THE BEST teachers I've ever seen in my experience with education. Something that sets this school apart is how built into the day opportunities for academic differentiation and social-emotional support are. The school uses data to frequently place students into tiered instruction, both for more challenging work and remediation. Every teacher we've had has been communicative- particularly in responding immediately and with care when we reach out- and seems to TRULY care about their students. I also love that the school staff is fairly consistent, and MANY adults in the building (including admin and superintendent) know your children by name and know you if you participate in events with regular frequency. In my experience, adults at this school have gone above and beyond to attend to both of our kids' unique needs.

great school! I have been here twice for preschool and once last year for an event, this school has definitely gotten better and it's pretty underrated in my opinion.

Our family has had a terrible experience with this school. There is so much bullying that happens and teachers do nothing to help the students that are being victimized. The bully’s are never confronted and parents are told to have their children ignore or stay away from the bullying. The academics are also lacking, not sure if class size is the reason, however it’s harder to tell where your child is academically now that MAP is no longer being used. Once you enroll your child into a CPS school, they will immediately start to indoctrinate them with political ideologies that you may not want your child learning out of your home. Explaining sexuality to a 3rd grader that has not even had sexual education to understand it at any level, leaves families powerless to what and when they want to teach. We wish they would spend more time on academics and socialization and leave the politics out of the classroom.

Our daughters just left Solomon this year (2024) for a move to Texas. Our oldest daughter was there for 8 years starting from pre-k to 5th grade, our youngest was there only a couple of years from pre-k to Kindergarten. Our first couple of years there, Solomon was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. At that time, we did not know how that would have impacted our daughter's education but nevertheless, it gave us a positive impression. In time, we understood what makes Solomon special was a sense of care and commitment that creates partnerships, from student to teachers/faculties to parents. All of that can be contributed to the commitment from Principle Gamble. He and his team fosters respects and kindness and creates the Solomon Spirit that the kiddos and parents believes in. Being a smaller school with some limited amenities and resources, the school makes up with its smaller class size and focus on academics with engaging and approachable teachers and instructors. Solomon may not have the bells and whistle of newer schools but it has the heart and soul that creates a rich environment for student growth.
