Todd Hall Elementary School

I'm so impressed with this school. As an educator of over 20 years and as a parent of children who have attended dist65 and private school, this is by far the best school I've ever seen. It beats any school I have been to, worked at, or have sent my children. The principal runs a tight ship and knows how to run a school in which staff and children are equally content. It's rigorous but also tends to SEL curriculum. Teacher communication has been excellent. The principal and office staff know every single kids name in the entire school. They can even pronounce my kids' difficulty last name. We are on our second year at EPS and are grateful. They have an array of acceleration programs and intervention to keep my advanced student happy and my struggling learner on track. I'm not sure why this isn't a 10/10 school because I can't see a single thing they could improve. Plus, the kids don't have to switch building every few years and loose out on valuable learners to transition. Pre-K to 2nd is on one floor, 3rd-5th on another, and middle school is on the third floor. I also feel like my kids are in a safe building as it was constructed recently and it's difficult for anyone to enter. The diversity is fantastic as well. Class sizes are reasonable (22 students with multiple staff in each room so far). I highly recommend this school to everybody.

Our daughters just left Solomon this year (2024) for a move to Texas. Our oldest daughter was there for 8 years starting from pre-k to 5th grade, our youngest was there only a couple of years from pre-k to Kindergarten. Our first couple of years there, Solomon was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. At that time, we did not know how that would have impacted our daughter's education but nevertheless, it gave us a positive impression. In time, we understood what makes Solomon special was a sense of care and commitment that creates partnerships, from student to teachers/faculties to parents. All of that can be contributed to the commitment from Principle Gamble. He and his team fosters respects and kindness and creates the Solomon Spirit that the kiddos and parents believes in. Being a smaller school with some limited amenities and resources, the school makes up with its smaller class size and focus on academics with engaging and approachable teachers and instructors. Solomon may not have the bells and whistle of newer schools but it has the heart and soul that creates a rich environment for student growth.

My experience at this school has been very positive and meaningful. The teachers are supportive and encourage students to challenge themselves academically, while also being approachable when we need help. I’ve had opportunities to participate in different activities and collaborate with classmates, which has helped me grow both academically and personally.I would describe the community as welcoming, inclusive, and motivated. Students support each other rather than compete in a negative way, and there is a strong sense that everyone wants to see each other succeed. Teachers, staff, and students work together to create an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and getting involved

Skokie Montessori is an amazing school where my child is thriving and excited to go each day. The teachers are expert Montessori educators, who show and teach the children kindness, respect, and academic excellence. I can rest assured that when I drop my child off at school, she will be cared-for, well-educated and fed, and grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally; I see her progression everyday. The student population is diverse, and the staff address and cultivate the needs and uniqueness of each student. It is a truly wonderful school and recommend without hesitation.

DO NOT send your child to this school. The school may look grand from the outside, but it is far from it. Looks are deceiving. This school does nothing about bullying. In fact, it is like they encouraged it. Our child was bullied at this school, and nothing was done about it. Our child even started having health issues because of the bullying. We reached out to the principal, vice principal and teachers countless times and nothing was done to resolve the bullying. We were once told that kids are kids. Another time that we no proof. Even though other children saw this happen there was no proof. What a joke. There were times our child was reprimanded for defending themself from the bully and nothing happened to the bully. We were also told to stop sending all the emails about the bullying issue. There needed to be written proof since a call and physical talk with the faculty is not traceable. An email is written proof of the issues, and the school tries ridiculously hard to hide it. The bullied victim family was made out to be the bad ones and the bully family was protected and left alone. We expect more from a private school where we pay high tuition. Especially when that school is a Christian school. There is nothing Christian about this school. If you fall into the specific "CLICK" of the school, you will be protected even if your child is a bully. Multiple families have removed their children from this school because of the same bully. That is a shame. No child should be bullied.This school does not even deserve one star. There needs to be a negative rating.
