St Leonard School

The older review is really sad! I'm so sorry they had a negative experience at Blythe Park. My kids have been going here for the past few years, and we all really love this school. I don't believe the current principal was around in 2014, but the current one, Mrs. Gorman, is great. She's responsive to issues, from my experience. I've never heard adults gossiping about kids. Personally, I don't find the parents cliquish. Over the past six years or so, Riverside has really turned over its population, meaning there are a *lot* of new families with young children. I do think that has changed some of the dynamics the previous reviewer experienced. The teachers here are lovely, and were excellent through the pandemic. This is a small gem of a school, and I feel very lucky that my kids are able to go here.

Amazing staff.They go above and beyond. Principal and teachers always engaged with students and parents. Response from them always fast. Reading, fitness programs get students, parents, and teachers involved

My kids love coming to school. We are thankful to be part of this school, teachers and staff are very supportive, friendly, understanding, engage and always very responsive to students and parents. This school does alot for students compare to nearby cities. They have a lot of after-school programs that kids love and keeps them active and busy weather is physical or mental. My kids have made great progress here. The principal is an amazing person so prepare and very helpful.

when i went here i was horrible i was like horrid henry lads im not even jokin... school sucked do NOT SEND KIDS HERE

Lots of bullying going on but dont get me started on the students here. The students here need to learn how to respect most of them make fun of mine and others peoples insecurities or disabilities which is not okay. Most kids here are racist and arent taught any manners. Now onto the school food, i have thrown up many times because of the food here. The food here used to be good (imo) but now it is very disgusting to the fact kids here are getting sick. The teachers i have had have mostly been nice but most of them are TERRIBLE and scream at CHILDREN i saw a pre-k student getting yelled at by a teacher and the teacher was full on screaming at the top of her lungs while the student was crying. I DO NOT recommend this school because of the bullying and teachers.

This has been the best school I have ever transferred my children to. The time and dedication the staff is with our children is indescribable. Dr. Bernard is such a dedicated principal and is the definition ofServant Leadership in this school. She not only helps teachers provide excellent teaching strategies but also works with the parent to be more involved and helps with techniques for teaching ur child at home. The Stickney police department is highly involved and attentive to the children of only with traffic duty on the street but walk the hallways to help children feelSafe and assuring not only staff but parents as well that safety is nothing u need to worry about. This has been the most welcoming area not only with neighbors but parents at school as well.
