Olive-Mary Stitt School

Excellent school and excellent leadership. Have two boys in school there now, there education is amazing, the teachers are caring and well qualified! My youngest son received special education services there and all the staff have played such an instrumental role in his success!

The school is good but my son says the lunch is horrible and said they should let the students decide on the lunch choices but they shouldn't all be like pizza and ice cream everyday.

The leadership at this school is terrible. It's very hard to tell who is in charge, but it seems to be the school secretary, the headmaster's nephew, and the school counselor. None of those people is qualified to run a school. The nepotism in this school is appalling and should be reason #1 for staying away. They can't keep good teachers, and they can't get rid of bad teachers. Since we have been there, several excellent teachers have left and more are on the way. The academics are not challenging and are very watered down. This is probably due to the fact that most of their teachers do not seem certified or qualified. It also seems to be a school where parents send their children who have issues. We have not been impressed with any of the friends our children have made at this school.

We currently have two children at OLW and we couldn't be happier with our experience so far! My daughter had a hard time adjusting to school as a young Pre-Schooler during the pandemic. The teachers and teacher's aides made her feel so loved and comfortable coming in everyday. Mid-way through the year, she loved it so much, we enrolled her for 5 days/week. That was 4 years ago and the same teachers still give her hugs in the hallway when they see her. It warms our heart to see how much the teachers genuinely care for the children at OLW. The staff at OLW makes the school such a special place to be!

I hope things have improved since I was there. 3 1/2 years there started my PTSD. 65 to 70 kids in a classroom you get scolded when you raise your hand or hit with a stick no questions answered. I was special needs and needed to use the bathroom but could not leave the classroom in spite of doctors notes and parents meeting with the school. The bathroom did not have doors on the stalls, some had toilet paper. The nuns were extremely cruel and un compassionate. You would not believe what I witnessed.

This is our second year at St. Peter, with our children in Grade 2 and Kindergarten. We were initially drawn to the school by its incredible facilities and loving atmosphere, and we've been consistently amazed by the care and effort the staff pours into the children and learning environment. We're grateful to be part of the St. Peter family.Principal Goffron is kind, approachable, and dedicated to maintaining high standards while continuously improving the school's offerings and support for each child and staff member. He and Emily (Director of Enrollment) welcome students at circle drive every morning, rain or shine, along with the grade 8 volunteers, ensuring an efficient, safe and positive start to each day. This gesture warms my heart and is a testament to the quality of care at the school from the top down.The teaching staff and education level exceed our expectations. Communication is excellent, and the schoolwork is challenging, and tailored to each child. My kids love their teachers, classmates, and look forward to school each day!
