Read what parents are saying about Borah Elementary SchoolIn regard to the previous complaint about staff not enforcing the "uniform" policy- I'm glad they didn't. This should have never happened in the first place. Borah has a free and reduced rate of 80 percent. This would have been a burden on many families, including ours to have to purchase these uniforms. I appreciate the new principal recognizing this and being lenient on the policy. He has stepped in and turned this struggling school around quickly. The teachers are fantastic and care about students. The culture at this school is improving!
Posted by a parent on 1/8/2015We have been at Borah for 4 years.this is our 5th. Borah is a great school with, again a few exceptions. great Teachers with a few exceptions. It is difficult when a "school" policy is made BUT the policy is not complied with nor is it enforced by the "new" Principal OR staff. The school decided on "Borah School T-Shirts" as a "uniform" for the children in addition to certain pant/skirt restriction. It was decided after several meetings the previous year. Many Parents disagreed BUT never attended meetings to debate and complain at that time. They just never sent their children in the proper uniform to school. The "new" principal never supported this decision for the one year trial period. I asked him several times what he was teaching these children by not complying for the year. he stated he had better things to take care. I say IF a "rule" is made, follow it. Dispute it and work to change it but to completely disregard is unexceptionable. Bullying is on the rise here also. Staff say this is not tolerated but other than "time out" the bully is left to do their worst. I hope this year is different as I DO NOT wish to be called to the school to do "their" jobs.
Posted by a parent on 8/10/2014We have just started Borah. We like the staff and small classroom size. My son loves his new teacher!

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe other day I watched as Curtis Orthodontics donated a snow cone truck at to Winton Elementary. It was right in the play ground, only kids who sold tickets for curtis ortho ($10 each) were allowed to have a stupid snow cone. Even though this cost the PTA NOTHING. The k-6 children who couldn’t sell tickets or didn’t know anyone who would want to buy ortho tickets (only redeemable for curtis orthodontist treatments) we not allowed to have one and had to watch all the other kids eat snow cones on an extremely hot day. That sucked for the other kids to have to deal with at school and I felt horrible for them. I’ve spent over $6,000 in ortho treatment at curtis orthodontist last year and you’re gonna tell me that my kids can’t have a freaking $2 snow cone with the rest of theirOther Review1y ago - Fernan STEM Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has enrolled too many children that have been expelled from public school. They have also enrolled too many families that are not even Catholic. The core upbringing of Christian Catholic values has been lost.Parent Review4mo ago - Noah's Ark Learning Center
