Posted by a parent on 11/2/2022everyone is friendly, and willing to help with learning, giving great advice on helping the children understand the new math system. Keeping them focused and the urge to learn. thank you for having the aloha spirit!!
Posted by a community member on 6/11/2020This really is a wonderful school. The teamwork and dedication of the staff is really impressive. Under the leadership of a relatively new principal it is clear that the school is on a mission to improve and they are doing an excellent job.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSome of the staff were great and most of the teachers care about the students but the principal doesn’t actually solve any issues and is a master at talking in circles. The bullies rule the school and get away with it because they put on a good act in front of the adults. Majority of the kids are afraid to say anything for fear of the bullies getting even worse than they already are. If you are not native Hawaiian- don’t come here.Parent Review4y ago - Kaneohe Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMost excellent school with lots of parental involvement. The teachers are wonderful and commuted to the students. One of their teachers was the the State Teacher of the year 2016. Also, their counselor was State Counselor of the year! Great teaching staff and great environment.Parent Review5y ago - Puohala Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVERY POOR. The Principal is ALWAYS changing classrooms and curriculum because she "thinks" it'll work best and then when that fails, she just keeps guessing. She's inexperience and shady. She hires "teachers" that doesn't have teaching degrees. On top of that, she's rude, impatient, and apparently is in meetings ALL day everyday. She lacks accountability for her failures and blames her teachers for it.Parent Review5y ago - Ahuimanu Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAhuimanu was rated well on Zillow 7/10. Two of my kids attended this school (1 in Kinder and the other in the 2nd grade). My 2nd grader had an awful experience and struggled because he could not understand his teacher. (1) His teacher spoke and wrote in "pigeon", a form of broken English spoken on the islands and, (2) maintained poor control of her classroom. My wife and I requested a change to another class via the Principal. The Principal denied the request stating that "if they allowed one family to switch classes then other families will want to switch". This reponse diminished my trust in their ability to provide an adequate education to my children. As a result, I removed both of my kids and placed them in a private school (Christian Academy). Now my son (the 2nd grader) is in the 4th grade and is in the top of his class this year and the last with a much stronger curriculum. My other child is thriving as well.Parent Review7mo ago - Ke Kula O Samuel M Kamakau - A Laboratory Public Charter School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child spent the majority of his early education @ St. Ann's. No complaints about their Early Learning Center but the upper grade levels leave much to be desired. There seems to be no room or tolerance for parent interaction other than for monetary or physical help. It was very also disturbing when I found out that they children were instructed by the principal to not reveal anything negative happening in school. Needless to say, I noticed that since the children were barely finishing 1/2 of their textbooks for the entire school year, I opted to transfer my child to a pricier but better suited school.Parent Review13y ago
