Posted by a community member on 3/13/2024My oldest son went to this school and now he is in the 8th grade I he loved everyone of his teachers k-5th. And now my youngest is in the 3rd grade attending Alcova and I still have nothing bad to say. My son loves his 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Hampton
Posted by a parent on 1/25/2024My family and I moved up here from Atlanta … My son who is in the 3rd grade who has never been in any trouble at all … with excellent grades is being bullied and made fun of by his teacher .. This is our 3rd day here and the teacher told my son in front of the entire class “This is not Clayton county we don’t do that here “ so now the students in the class room are repeating and bullying him … I went up to the school and nothing was done .. This school is suppose to be highly rated and one of the better districts …I don’t appreciate this school teacher LISA WESTMORELAND… I will be reporting her and her unprofessional ways of handling a new student ! And the kids that are not welcoming and being mean because of her comments!I am a supervisor in my 18 wheeler driving career for 10 years and I have never had to deal with this from my son … He is a straight A and 2 B student with no history of any bad behavior! So I thought this was a great district! I was wrong ! Terrible experience so far and I’m looking to enroll him in private school .. This has gotten me concerned for my son his treatment because of where he is from!!!

Posted by a parent on 2/1/2020This school is absolutely amazing. The teachers are attentive effective and the administration cares about Kids!! I'm sad that we moved out of the area during my sons 5th grade year. He loved this school and all of the great events like skate night at sparkle. And the student bowl o Rama at stars and strikes.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been here for six years with our children. Some of the administration here are very disrespectful to not only the students but, the parents also. You are made to feel unwelcome at the school as a parent. Our second child there is in the autism program has been treated awful. I would never recommend putting your child here. I never knew what was happening aside from what my child would tell me. My attempts to reach out to the school were typically unanswered. 10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is great, teacher provides special accompaniment to the students who need it most. Teacher prioritizes fundamental learning and students are happy. The community is very diverse culturally which is great. Teachers who I’ve interacted with are amazing and care for kids. School is welcoming but feedback that I would provide is the front door staff Kimberly needs more observation as how the lady treats some guardians, specially Hispanic community and better her customer service or client experience skills.
