Lynch Elementary School

This school is absolutely horrible. No respect for a 504 protected student, no respect for the parents, terrible communication. Department of Education needs to get involved.

Best High School in Pinellas for Advanced special needs students and Best programs. Great teachers and JROTC program. Who ranked this school low?

My son had a great experience in pre-k and kindergarten. The teachers were great with him and the students here were great too. He made lots of friends and never had trouble with bullying. However in first grade he started having trouble. He was diagnosed with ADHD (and later autism) and had severe sensory needs, and while we had discussed options with the principal and his teacher to help and I had requested an IEP meeting, we were instead asked to leave the school. He lost dozens of friends and was sent to a terrible school to be punished for having a disability. We left that school also and now Homeschool. He has all the accommodations he needs and no behavior issues at all. It's a great school for neurotypical kids, but if you have different needs, forget it.

We switched to Sexton last year halfway through and are so happy we did! Our kids are involved in so many fun events and love the parties they get to attend with their points. My youngest was in 1st grade and was reading at level when he started here. He was at a 3rd grade reading level and bringing home 3 page stories he wrote at school. The teachers and administrations communicate very well and I always feel like I know what is going on at the school and with my children. I feel that they really focus on the individual child and work with them to reach their full potential.We have had a very positive experience and both of my boys are so happy at Sexton. My oldest even discovered he loves running through the running club and is so excited for battle of the books this year!

I honestly had mixed feelings about my children's time at LCS. Pros-smaller classes, Christian education.Cons- Issues with other students may not be addressed properly, communication is not always timely.My kids were newer to the school and at times it felt cliquish-especially at events outside the normal class hours. It was a struggle socially, but with teacher support one child had some improvement with developing relationships. The academics were solid, however for the lower grades I was hoping my child would have more of an excitement for learning. Overall, I feel like something was missing there. It just felt sterile and I hoped for better connections for a small school.

The school, the teachers and staff care about each student and their success. Along with an excellent education- each student learns Catholic values and any bullying or acting out is not tolerated. The Principal and Vice Principal take care of any issues that come up immediately and genuinely care about the kids and their success. Each teacher my kids have had has been engaged, caring and devoted to learning.
