Surfside Elementary School

If you have a child that's well adjusted that has little to no behavioral/psychological/educational issues, Holland is a great school. They care a lot about their reputation and are extremely customer service oriented (they tend to stick very closely to the script). However, if your child has any of the issues or disabilities, I would highly recommend going anywhere else.

If your child is special needs and has minimal behavior issues and requirements, this school is more than fine at accommodating them. The staff is wonderful and genuinely supportive/caring towards the students. However, this school much like every other elementary school in Brevard Public School District, is not getting the support they need for special needs students who require more for their behavior and/or education needs. Intervention and additional support staff for them are almost non-existent; and for no fault of the school's teachers and administration.

I’ve had serious concerns about the conditions and management at this school. There are ongoing cleanliness issues, including a persistent cockroach problem and extremely unsanitary bathroom conditions, with reports of feces smeared in the facilities. Additionally, student behavior often goes unchecked, and the administration, particularly the principal, appears unresponsive to these issues. The overall environment feels neglected and unstructured, which affects both student well-being and the quality of education.

Top notch leadership. Competitive academics. High degree faculty. Loving community and beautiful campus. It's a privilege to send.my children here.

We’ve been going to IHM for a year and are very happy! We moved from another Montessori and public elementary school and have had a positive experience overall.Here’s a few things that stand out:- The communication is better than any other daycare or school we’ve been to- The principal/director seeks feedback and acts on it to make improvements- There are a WIDE variety of sports for kids to enroll in- There is a large indoor gym used for sports and special events like short plays- There are lots of opportunities for parent involvementMy children feel safe and are thriving in the hands-on learning environment. I highly recommend IHM!
