Too many examples of mismanagement to list them all but let’s say that bullying is rampant at this school which is odd considering how densely populated the area is with fanatical Christians. Bullying is absolutely not dealt with by teachers the VP nor Principal.The PE teacher wears Crocks a shoe that the school banned for the students. She sits in a chair during class with mini cones in a circle surrounding her and tells the students that they are not to cross into the circle of cones. If you forget your water bottle, sorry, you may not get water until after class no matter how extensive the exercise is per her class rules. There are teachers that should simply retire instead of dragging themselves into class for one more day who have horrible attitudes towards the kids and teaching in general - more than noticeable to the students. Off base comments about not getting paid enough spoken directly to the students is an example. Another oddity is that there is literally not one male teacher of any discipline. How? Why?My overall assessment is go elsewhere. All the cute social media pictures don’t tell the real story. Choose wisely.

I’ve had serious concerns about the conditions and management at this school. There are ongoing cleanliness issues, including a persistent cockroach problem and extremely unsanitary bathroom conditions, with reports of feces smeared in the facilities. Additionally, student behavior often goes unchecked, and the administration, particularly the principal, appears unresponsive to these issues. The overall environment feels neglected and unstructured, which affects both student well-being and the quality of education.

We’ve been going to IHM for a year and are very happy! We moved from another Montessori and public elementary school and have had a positive experience overall.Here’s a few things that stand out:- The communication is better than any other daycare or school we’ve been to- The principal/director seeks feedback and acts on it to make improvements- There are a WIDE variety of sports for kids to enroll in- There is a large indoor gym used for sports and special events like short plays- There are lots of opportunities for parent involvementMy children feel safe and are thriving in the hands-on learning environment. I highly recommend IHM!

Our experience at Verdi EcoSchool has been nothing short of an adventure. When our child began Kindergarten in 2019, their school year was halted by the pandemic, which presented challenges for all students. But at EcoSchool, we faced them together. The school pivoted quickly with creative ways to engage students, even during closures.Once things returned to normal, the school grew in both educators and students, while staying true to its focus on place-based learning. Verdi EcoSchool integrates the local community into the learning environment, allowing my now 10-year-old to be an active part of her community, something not often seen in traditional schools. Learning happens both on and off-campus, and students become responsible members of the community while mastering academic skills.The educators at EcoSchool are passionate and dedicated. They don't just show up for the job—they walk alongside each student on their learning journey. Students have a voice in their learning, gaining autonomy to guide their educational experience, but within the boundaries of structure and support.What I appreciate most is the focus on individualized learning. The school offers annual assessments to track each student's growth, and based on results, the educators adjust the learning plan to meet individual needs. With small class sizes (less than 10 students), each child receives the attention they need. Success isn't measured by grades, but by the learning process. Project-based learning is a staple, where students explore themes through field trips, research, and hands-on projects. Instead of exams, students lead their own conferences, guiding parents through their self-assessments and reflecting on their progress.The culture at Verdi EcoSchool is built on relationships, and conscious discipline is at its core. Families participate in ongoing training and workshops to implement these practices at home. Family involvement is crucial to the school’s success. Though it requires commitment, it’s a rewarding sacrifice. Families can volunteer in areas they feel called to, fostering a sense of service and modeling how to raise community helpers.In an ever-changing world, it's essential for children to develop a love of learning and problem-solving skills.
