My son graduated from WCY last year. They have a very strong science department as well as exceptional math teachers. The English department could use improvement, but overall it's one of the only highly rated middle schools in the district that allows reassignments. Not to mention, the band program

It's nice when the school makes efforts to reward their students for doing the right thing and improving academically.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am very disappointed with my experience at Silver Palms Elementary, particularly regarding how the school staff, especially the principal, handled a concerning situation involving my child. My child consistently expressed worry and distress about how he was being treated by another student, but unfortunately, nothing was done until I personally made a call and became involved. I found the aftercare staff to be quite rude and unhelpful, seeming unsure of how to appropriately handle certain situations. Because of these experiences, I decided to withdraw my child from the school. Since transferring to a new school, he has been much happier, his grades have improved, and he has made better friends.It is important for schools to prioritize the well-being and safety of their students, and I hope Silver Palms Elementary will reflect on these issues to improve their response and support for students in the future.Parent Review11mo ago - Lakeside Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy twins just completed the 5th grade dual language program at Lakeside, and we had a great experience there. They were there from Kindergarten through fifth grade, and I can say with confidence that Lakeside is truly a safe space. Dr. Rodriguez and Mrs. Leal have done a wonderful job of making a great school even better. The teachers are so dedicated, and the turnover rate has been very low from what I've seen. Their PTA is very active and really works hard to make school more engaging and fun for students.
