The staff seems motivated and intelligent in their craft. The chief concern would be the leadership at the school. The principal truly has no interpersonal skills, and does not know how to to effectively communicate with staff, teachers, or parents. I hope Miami dade looks into her placement.

My son has been going there for 3 years and I have been dealing with bullying from day one my son has had a laceration, a black eye and was hit in the ear so hard his ear drum was ringing and I had to take him to the hospital I had to call the school board region to have something be done the teachers and staff didn't care as long I didn't report it there are to many kids getting bullied and are killing there self I'm very disappointed in the school Are we gonna wait until a actual crime is committed

My son started at Morningside in Kindergarten. He is now finishing his 5th grade year here. My daughter is finishing 1st grade after starting in their Role Model program at age 3. Overall, we have had a great experience here. My kids have loved all of their teachers, they have enjoyed many fun activities put on by the PTSA and the teachers and they've been able to take advantage of some really wonderful after school activities. There is a surprising amount of affordable and fun after school activities here for it being a public school. We have made some very close friends through the years at Morningside. There is a strong community of parents who really care about making the elementary and middle school experience here a good one for the kids who attend. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone.

Our son attended Phyllis Ruth Miller Elementary School from Kindergarten through 5th grade (2017-2024), and it has truly been an exceptional experience. This is the kind of school where everyone, from the staff to the students, knows each other's names, creating a tight-knit and supportive atmosphere. The security staff, in particular, goes above and beyond, treating the children as if they were their own. I’ll never forget watching the security guards assist each 5th-grade graduate up onto the stage during the graduation ceremony, sending them off to middle school with the utmost care and pride.Phyllis Ruth Miller Elementary is a hidden gem on Miami's Upper East Side, and if you’re searching for a safe, nurturing, and community-driven school, look no further.
