Rather, the school relies on excessive testing. Should your child ever attend this school, anticipate at least 4-5 quizzes/exams a week. Yes, this is the norm. Sh

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was struggling so we moved him over to Blue Lakes. We have had a great experience! The principal is excellent and very involved. Some of the bad reviews are from a previous principal. The current principle is out there greeting the parents everyday and knows each kid by name. When my kid was struggling with emotional breakdowns during COVID, the school reacted immediately. They put his mental health first and he is doing great! My eldest is now in a Magnet High School taking all AP classes and my youngest is currently in Sunset Park's Gifted Program. The teachers are caring & excellent educators with years of experience. Administration is top notch & always available. The campus is located in a residential neighborhood with tons of green spaces. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGateway is a small private school with a very small-minded attitude towards the children and the parents. If you are someone that donates above and beyond the school fees, they will treat your child like Prince Charming. If you are not a church member or donor, then your child will be treated like he is in the witness protection program, and will only get whatever the basics are. I was very disappointed with this school, and our child still remembers it as the worst school that he has ever attended. This makes my daughter have a negative impact on her mental heath and I think they should take quick action.Also , the take away recess for children who don’t behave. Recess is meant to have fun and as a therapist this is unbelievable. If children keeep having recess off this can be sued. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHi, I'm an SCA mom. My children have attended this school since Pre-k, I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart that these are great teachers. The teachers are loving, dedicated and caring. The staff at SCA is very friendly. I came to this school 7 years ago, it was a very difficult time in my life. I was going thru a divorce. The staff at this school was very helpful and they guided my children while I healed and I am forever greatful to ALL of them. My kids have grown at this school physically and spiritually. I am so glad I chose to enroll my baby at Smart Starts. The infant and toddler teachers are great!I can not even explain how much better my day goes knowing that my baby is in good hands.
