Longleaf Elementary School

Would not recommend this school. I’ve had a few issues with Sherwood school. I thought it would get better but it didn’t. Office is not good at communicating with teachers. They never seem to know what’s going on. Which this scares me if there were to be an intruder or an emergency at the school. Head start teachers are very negative and seem to be giving up. A few times a teacher has posted the wrong info on the Dojo app. Leaving all the parents confused. Teacher yells commands at her classroom aides. I’ve heard from other parents Sherwood’s staff was difficult and now I’m a believer.

Love all the teachers here and Dr. Tressler! They all go above and beyond and we are grateful.

The school is great for little kiddies. Once you are ready for first grade-LEAVE! The quality of their education is extremely POOR. Their staff is not trained to teache both Judaism/Hebrew and secular studies. They will take any student if they can pay, that is all that matters.

Our family’s experience with this school was disappointing. As a new student, our child struggled to feel included, and the environment often felt very cliquish among students, teachers, and some administrative staff.The most concerning part was a serious incident in which another student crossed our child’s personal boundaries. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the administration did not handle it appropriately, and the student responsible, who had been at the school for many years, was not held accountable.There were a few kind families, but overall we felt unsupported, unheard, and unsafe. Families who start their children at the school very young might have a different experience, but coming in as an older student was not positive for us. I hope the school has improved, but this was our experience.
