The Geneva School

My son was assaulted in the 2nd week of school, twice. Has marks on his face from being slapped. Faculty made up a story the first time someone put hands on him, and have no answers when I disagree. Then the next morning hes slapped in the face by another student within the first 20 minutes of class. Bully culture here is encouraged. Faculty turns a blind eye. Principle is nowhere to be found.

Mixed feelings as our then 7 yr old daughter was constantly being bullied by her peers. We notified the teachers but it continued throughout the year. It was one and done as we placed her in a different school this year.

I really love it here. I’ve been to three high schools overall, and Lyman is my third and final one. I feel safe, there are many ways to get involved in the school culture, and overall other students are respectful to each other and care about doing well in class. If you hang out with the right people, you won’t have any trouble doing good here, but that’s with any school. I’m proud to be graduating from here, and really love the motto of diversity and inclusivity because it’s true. We’re always up to date on events because of the weekly newsletters from Mr. Hunter. The communication and environment is great :)

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Thacker and the majority of the staff at Red Bug Elementary. They truly are an amazing school. They put together so many wonderful events for the students, and it’s clear how much they care. Dr. Thacker even spends her weekends at the park watching the students play—giving her personal time just to support and connect with our kids. That level of dedication and love for the students is truly special.

Sterling Park Elementary has been an absolute blessing for our family (and our sanity). When my son first started school, he was non-verbal due to autism. Fast forward to now, and he is reading, writing, and communicating, basically doing things we once only dreamed about. The staff believed in him, supported him endlessly, and somehow made learning feel both possible and fun.My daughter is also a student at Sterling Park Elementary, and she has absolutely flourished. She’s growing academically, socially, and confidently, and comes home excited to tell us about her day, which as any parent knows, is a minor miracle in itself.Beyond the classroom, this school has created a true community. We’ve built amazing relationships with other families and with staff who genuinely care. This is a place where teachers know your child, celebrate their wins (big and small), and partner with parents instead of just sending emails with “FYI” in the subject line.We are incredibly grateful to be part of Sterling Park Elementary and could not recommend it more. If you’re looking for a school that combines compassion, excellence, and heart, with a little magic sprinkled in, this is it.

Before Layer, our child attended another elementary school in Seminole County and we toured the nearby charter school. After two years, we are truly thankful that we chose Layer. Our child’s teachers have all been wonderful. The principal, Mrs. Todd, and her administrative team are extremely engaged and supportive.
