I'm so sad my kid is currently in 5th grade and can't stay here forever. Both her and her brother have had outstanding teachers that have effectly managed their classrooms and despite the large sizes seem to have gotten to know my kids rather well so that my kids can both learn but also develop socially. The administration is kind and caring, support and special education is amazing and has worked seamlessly in integrating my kid's need for small group/1:1 help while also giving enough classroom time. The community of families is large and organized and the school has many engaging events but also does an incredible job creating opportunities for students to be stewards of their school, through safety patrol, yearbook, farmers market, etc. This is the elementary school of dreams!!! How lucky we are to be one of the pack!

We moved back from Europe specifically so our children could attend Eaton Elementary.The recent renovations have created a beautiful, modern learning environment, but what truly makes Eaton outstanding is the people. The teachers are skilled, caring educators who know each child as an individual. The staff are warm and competent, creating a supportive atmosphere throughout the building. The afterschool program is well run and very convenient.The parent community is equally impressive. Families are engaged and supportive, and the HSA goes above and beyond to enrich the school experience through their dedication and hard work.Our children are thriving here in every way—academically, socially, and emotionally. Eaton is everything we hoped for in an elementary school and more. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

The amount of growth I’ve observed during my child’s first year at JFEC has been nothing short of remarkable. Every day at pickup she exclaims “I had a great day!” and proceeds to tell me everything that she learned. Her vocabulary constantly surprises me and her general knowledge has grown leaps and bounds. They even have basic Latin instruction for the kids! She has also learned a lot about social behavior and how to interact with her new friends. The facilites are new and beautifully maintained. They have two playgrounds and an indoor gym. Coming from a place with a less-than-stellar public school system, JFEC is hard to beat!I feel very confident in the safety of my child at this school. Her teachers love her, the security staff is thorough and incredibly kind. The only read downside is parking and the commute - both of which are worth it for the positive experience we’ve had at this school.

This school is exceptional. They are dedicated, mission-aligned staff who respect the historical legacy that OA carries. This was the first bilingual school in the Northeast US, and every day they work to honor the Salvadorian immigrants who built this place, and all the families (from around Latin America and the world) who continue to make it incredible. I am honored to have my kids here with this team.

We absolutely love Hyde-Addison Elementary! The school has such a welcoming and joyful culture — it truly feels like a community. The diversity of the student body is one of its greatest strengths, and the environment is inclusive and supportive for every child.The facilities are bright, clean, and thoughtfully maintained, creating a space where students feel proud to learn. There are so many opportunities for students to get involved — from enrichment activities to creative projects — and the staff goes above and beyond to make learning engaging and fun.Hyde-Addison’s approach to supporting students is phenomenal. The teachers and intervention team are dedicated and responsive, ensuring that every child gets what they need to thrive. Teacher and staff retention is strong, which speaks volumes about the leadership and school culture.The PTA is incredibly active and does so much to bring families together and enhance school life. The parent community is warm, collaborative, and genuinely invested in the school’s success.We feel so fortunate to be part of Hyde-Addison — it’s a gem in the heart of D.C.!

In my honest opinion, based on my experience and hearing about other teachers at this school, I can say that the teachers don't seem friendly or welcoming at all because of the lying, mistreatment, and unethical ways of treating my family. Initially, I thought this school was great, but after knowing the situations that have previously happened with my children, I can say do not send your child here!
