Highlands Ranch High School

The school has a problem with violence that the administration cannot seem to get under control. Incidents such as a strangulation, a student punching a peer in the face, a student throwing items like staplers, clipboards, and laptops at classmates, pushing peers off of playground equipment, stomping on classmates, and general bullying such as taking a student's personal items. This has been prevelant for at least the past three years. There is inadequate superivison of individual students who are known to hurt their classmates, and nothing effective is being done about these issues.

Great school and great community. They have an abundance of resources to meet students where they are and lift them up.

This school has gone so downhill over the past few years. Extremely liberal agenda with poor teachers. Not a loving school. Also they make it seem hard to get into but anyone I know who unfortunately decides to send their kids here, gets in.

We have two kids that have gone through this school from Kindergarten to 5th. We could not this school and it’s teachers enough. Both our kids struggle with different learning challenges; one excels academically but struggles socially (ADHD) and the other has anxiety and challenges with comprehension so scores tend to be lower. The school has done an incredible job pulling in the right support where it’s most needed. They have a program called WIN “what I need” where they will place students with support teachers if they need more assistance in a certain subject. They also place students who are at a much higher level at a certain subject with the gifted and talented teacher, ensuring they are learning at a pace that is best for the student. This is why the test scores are much higher than other schools - they pay attention to individual needs. The administration is honest and caring - always makes time to listen to concerns and takes them seriously. We have experience bringing up concerns and they have always been met with compassion and constructive conversation. Our kids adore this school and have consistently thrived.

Arrowwood is an incredible school with an amazing staff and a truly supportive community. The teachers are caring, dedicated, and go above and beyond to make sure every student feels seen, supported, and excited to learn. There is a strong sense of connection between families, staff, and leadership, which makes a huge difference in the overall experience.The programs offered are engaging and thoughtfully designed, and the leadership team does a fantastic job creating a positive, welcoming environment for both students and parents.The only area for growth is additional resources and support for students with dyslexia. While the staff is caring and does their best, more specialized support would make an already great school even better.Overall, we feel very lucky to be part of the Arrowwood community and highly recommend it to other families.
