Parent Review2mo ago13 Reviews - Hallett Academy

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have one daughter who is attending Montclair and another who will be attending starting next year and our experience so far has been terrific. We've experienced thoughtful teachers, teachers aides, principal, and front staff admins. We love that they have art, performance art, and gym teachers. Our daughter is excelling and being given ample opportunity to be challenged. We appreciate the Social-Emotional development classes the school offers for parents to learn more about effective parenting. It's been a warm welcoming environment. And with the Principal that just started in the 24/25 academic year, I expect things to continue to trend up. Of challenges or things that could improve, I'd like better school parent engagement (as opposed to teacher engagement, which has been good). There has been some school outreach, but the follow through on getting parents engaged hasn't been strong. We noticed that school communication of upcoming events were sometimes late or contradictory, but that seems to have improved recently. Also, I which the school offered more sports teams, but that's not a major concern. Ultimately, we've enjoyed it so much that we've recruited some local friends with kids to join our kids over at Montclair.Parent Review1y ago18 Reviews - Smith Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDisappointment when the principal calls my daughter a liar for something her teacher agreed she did wrong. Principal is supposed to advocate for my child instead she plain insulted us!! God forbid it had been something worse she would also call my child a liar. This lady was recently hired and already She is not to be trusted!!!Other Review1y ago4 Reviews - Westerly Creek Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been a family at Blessed Sacrament for many years and decided to pull our children out of the school at the end of this school year. The leadership at the school is severly lacking and is so focused on creating "little saints" and educating students about Catholicism that the academics have really suffered. The students attend mass two days per week and on those days also have another 30 minutes of theology in the classroom. There is very little academic instruction done on the two mass days. Many of the teachers are not qualified to teach the subject/grade level they are currently in, which results in a lack of academic knowledge and classroom management in those classrooms. You can look up their current credential status on the Colorado Department of Education website under educator credential search. The teachers in the upper elementary grades consistently yell at the students, are very demeaning in front of other students, and lack the general knowledge of how to educate students at this age. They also have very little tolerance for students that do not sit quielty in their seats and are not perfect students. Bullying is not handled at all at this school. If you reach out to the teachers or administration about bullying they consistently defend the bullies and do nothing about it. The school also does not differentiate to meet all the students academic needs. Teachers do not pull small groups to differentiate to meet students at all levels in the classroom and as a result many families have to pay for outside tutoring on top of paying for tuition. Over the past 3 years many students have left the school which has resulted in many grades only having one class per grade level. These classes are extremely large for a private school with no para support. It is quite evident that the teachers are not able to handle having large classes due to the lack of academic rigor and management.Parent Review2mo ago35 Reviews - St James Catholic School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has really gone down hill. It used to have good STEM but now... leave no child left behind I guess. 25 years ago I would say it was an amazing school. Now? Don't put this on a high school application later.I think I see the trend though.Other Review1mo ago30 Reviews
