Read what parents are saying about Hallett AcademyThis is my family's fifth year at Hallett, and we love it! Principal Jefferson leads with love, and it is echoed in every member of the faculty and staff. The children here know that they are valued and respected, and this foundation makes it possible for them to leap into their learning! As a low-income parent, I've never been made to feel like my children deserved any less than any other child. My children are Black, and were not being served well by other schools in the Denver community, and not only are they happier at Hallett, but that joy is reflected in every area of their learning and growth.
Posted by a parent on 12/18/2023My daughter went to Kindergarten here last year. We wanted to give the school a chance. To our surprise and delight, we have had such a great experience at the school. And our daughter is so happy and learning so much, I can't imagine sending her somewhere else for First Grade. We got into the charter school in the neighborhood and have decided that we are keeping her at Hallett Academy. The administration and teachers have been nothing but professional, engaging, energetic and they're always so present for the students. I see this every day, because I walk my daughter into school every morning. The principal and the same for teachers are waiting outside to greet the students every single morning and it's been like that since last year as well as this year. When you send your kid to school, you want a great education, and you also want a school that feels like they care about each and every student's success. In my experience, they do at Hallett Academy.
Posted by a parent on 10/22/2022I am a retired high school teacher and coach and as such have seen the good and bad of schools. Everyone I have interacted with at Hallett has been positive, caring, energetic and extremely professional. This is a wonderful place for kids.
Posted by a community member on 10/12/2022It is time that people realize the transformation that Hallett Academy has made over the past several years. This is clearly a school that is filled with caring teachers, an inspiring leadership team, and not only joyous learning taking place within the walls, but also joyous events in an effort to bring the community together! The students are encouraged to dive deep into their learning from Hallett adults who genuinely want to connect with and support each individual student. If you were on the fence about Hallett or were looking for a supportive school environment, look no further.
Posted by a parent on 9/29/2022We have had an amazing experience at Hallett. My son has been there 2 years so far. Both years we have adored his teachers. They have been very invested in their classrooms and the students. My son looks forward to going to school and learning. He comes home excited each day. When we practice letters and numbers it is evident he is making huge progress. We went to this school not knowing much about it except that is was 2 blocks from our house. We have been blown away.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy dear niece attended kindergarten here.We had an immense amount of troubles with her suddenly not waiting to go back to school. After seeking outside counseling, it became apparent that the "teaching style" of her instructor was causing her to feel shame and be fearful. This was heart breaking. We only wanted her to love school in her own neighborhood. This escalated until we finally were met with a mediator. This teacher was surprisingly closed minded and cold. I was surprised that she could be teaching for SO very long and become this callous. The rest of the year was arduous and barely tolerable. That summer we met several of the neighbors whom coincidentally had children in this same teacher's class. According to them, this was exactly their experience as well. We're still navigating emotional trauma that causes my niece to be distrustful and have anxiety in school settings, as a result. I wish there was something the school board or somebody would do. This teacher has never seen accountability. I would still recommend this school... Just not this teacher. She's a giant scar on what is otherwise a lovely school.Parent Review1y ago - Smith Elementary School

My child felt comfortable and at home at this school very quickly, despite having just moved here. The teachers have all be wonderful. Literally when she is sick she still wants to go- I have to make her stay home :)Parent Review1y ago - Montview Community Preschool & Kindergarten

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMontview is a really wonderful and caring environment for preschoolers and Kindergarten. The teachers are experienced and so professional, while also being incredibly warm and attentive. The physical space indoors and outdoors is nothing short of stunning and so wonderful for creative adventures. We have just adored our experience at Montview and can't wait for our younger children to attend!Parent Review11mo ago - Blessed Sacrament Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI couldn’t be happier and more importantly, my kids could not be happier to be at this school. Academics are prioritized, therefore they are challenged and engaged in what they’re learning every day through the teachers who very clearly love what they do. The small class sizes and friendly student body has also made such a big impact on the positive outlook that my kids have in the way they look forward to going to school each day.Parent Review6mo ago - Garfield Montessori School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI came to this school from a school that had been so hateful towards me and I felt such a difference. I love this school so much. The Principal Shelly Dennis is one of the kindest people I have ever met. I have some special needs and all the teachers were so kind to me and helpful about that. I never ever felt like I was being bullied. They teach their students to always be kind through the IB program.Other Review3y ago - Primrose School At Stapleton
