I love the teachers my child has had. They have been caring and encouraging. But this school really lacks in parent communication and parent engagement. Parents do not know about school-wide events until the week of and sometimes the day of. This makes it hard to participate. I've also had a hard time getting clear answers about policies, I get a different answer from each person I ask. This includes policies about birthday parties, field trips, even uniform.

I don't see any 2022 reviews!1st off kindergarten at over 30 kids In one class room setting 3 or 4 classrooms. It's nuts.2nd You will not be able to walk child past the front gate. Best let them learn at 3 years old to be self sufficient!By the way if covid masks are not mandatory nor should other things like give the parents a right to make the choice of walking child's hand not giving it off to a stranger at the gate. Our kids have been under lock down understand who strangers are and you all are one. Also these hours 8 to 2!! May I remind you these kids are 5. If it's been half day alllllllllll these years it's for a reason but let's make a change Now. Really. I've worked at Montebello united school district for 6 years and different campuses and never would I get taken over or deal with the rudest ppl at this school possibly the city!! My daughter comes home and tells me the teacher speaks a different language doesn't know where to wash her hands. Is terrified doing lunch time with all the older children around her. Kindergarten usual eats with there own class ,things really have changed. This school is not classy or friendly. The setting is in a bad area of the city. I think the only good thing I can say is there get meals to kids and will give 1 uniform to each child. Know your facts and stand your ground don't let any district or school belittle you.

Teachers and staff at Signal Hill are united in one common goal... to foster growth in ALL areas of education and in life. I really respect and admire the teachers at Signal Hill because they are truly invested in not only their students' education, but in their lives as well. They go above and beyond! love this school, and so does my child!
