Read what parents are saying about Lincoln Elementary SchoolI've been a substitute at this school for at least four years. I live in the neighborhood. The teachers are amazing and collaborative. The office staff is great. This school really is a family and they truly care about their students. I am currently working as a long term substitute between this school and another school and despite not having technology integrated into the buildings (they have Chromebooks and have been teaching the students with Google Classroom but the buildings themselves have yet to be updated), Lincoln approached distance learning effectively. This is a school where teachers are encouraged to be learners and to collaborate and build each others' strengths.
Posted by a community member on 4/9/2020This school in horribly unorganized and the overall staff has very low standards for their students. There are a few teachers I've met who care deeply about the students, but lack the resources to provide a better learning atmosphere. The principal doesn't seem to care about improving the school overall. I hated sending my daughter here. She had difficulty in reading, and when I reached out to the staff regarding what can we do to help, they had nothing to say. I asked for a calendar of events so we could stay abreast of school activities and they looked at me puzzled and had to copy a staff calendar. This is a horrible school and does not prepare students for the next level. If anything it sets them back and keeps them on track to be below standard and have a horrible educational experience in the future. Its as if Lincoln expects the students to fail and the parents not to care. They do not provide any meaningful resources to for parents, students, and staff to connect. Thank God my daughter got into a good middle school where she is being challenged and has a chance.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI hadn't noticed St. Anthony's previously to be honest, even though it's a large beautiful historic church right across from MOLAA. We attend another church and had never considered sending our child to Catholic school before. However, when we didn't get any school of choice options in Long Beach, our God-send of a neighbor found St. Anthony's. I asked for a tour, and the principal herself, Ms. Kargas, responded to my email quickly and welcomed the chance to give us a tour of the school. She is very kind and on the ball. I immediately loved the smaller class sizes. I then met the seasoned kindergarten teacher and was sold! Her class is well organized and each child receives their own iPad for in-class use. The kids have music, Spanish and P.E. classes throughout the week, in addition to one short mass each week. Hot lunch is also available. Also, the whole schoo--including Kindergarten--is a full-day program, which is very attractive for working families. And the cost of tuition is what we were paying for half-day preschool! I'm so thankful we found this school family. I know our daughter is safe and well cared for, while receiving a quality education.Parent Review5y ago - Huntington Academy
