8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy granddaughter has attended SES for 3 years; we live nearby so often take here or pick her up, and interact with the teachers and her classmates. It is a wonderful, student-centered school with a full spectrum of hands-on learning opportunities, from regular classroom academics to musical theater, gardening, and craft fairs. I can't imagine a better pubic-school environment.Parent Review4mo ago - Franklin High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would rate my experience a 4/5. The one point I'm taking away is because I got mugged once, right outside the school. Some dudes walked up to me and stole my bus money. However, during the frightening ordeal, it also built a lot of character for me and taught me a valuable lesson on how not to get mugged at Franklin.Student Review3y ago - Check out schools near 107 SE 27th Ave.

"I've lived in this neigborhood for over 20 years, both my children went to Buckman an amazing art magnet primary school. People are friendly and it is a safe urban neighborhood. Plus now there are many great places to eat and shop."

"We’ve owned our home for 29 years, raised our 4 children, and now have 9 grandchildren who all went to Buckman school. The neighborhood is extremely walkable, close to freeway access in all directions if needed, neighbors are all friendly and willing to lend a helping hand, walking our pup is like happy hour for dogs, walk or ride s bike to downtown Portland, a multitude of restaurants, bars, bakeries, banks, post office, laurelhurst park, bike routes. I feel proud and fortunate to live in this neighborhood."

"It has a lot of beautiful homes and streets and trees. Used to be quirkier and now is pretty hip. Very safe. "

"I'm on a first name basis with the staff at our corner store, the checkers at our grocery store, and my favorite bartenders. There are still food carts and downtown is walking distance. Also, there's an abandoned hole in the ground nextdoor that's hopefully keeping the rent down."
