5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWithout any knowledge about American schools, we moved from Denmark to USA with our 3 kids last year. We visited PS 17 with our kids. they liked this school from the first time. We felt very welcome and professional service from the school staff. Our kids were not able to speak English. Now year after, they can write and speak fluently. The other subjects also reached the lever which they need to have. We are so proud them but we know all of these are school and teachers efforts. Its not easy move from country , home and friends, special in they are ages, but they school take care them with love which we as parents can fell that every single day. There is none day, I hear from kids, they don't want go to school. opposite they are always go to school with happy and trust. They fells so happy and safe with they teachers and proud they having the best teacher ... Really, we fell so lucky to have our kids in PS 17. The environment from school has created all the knowledge and love to our kids which are they most important in they are small world. We are so appreciate this school, they have made different.Parent Review5y ago - Ps 84 Jose De Diego

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe “dual language” program has no actual instruction in Spanish. English speakers are merely taught in spanish 50% of the time. I would not recommend this school as it is heavily geared towards this poorly executed program.Parent Review3y ago - Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design

"we live by morgan L train station. It is mostly safe and quiet but I’ve heard of a few incidents. People from the neighborhood throw garbage outside the trash bins which I find disrespectful but as we all know some people live in an alternative world. There are nice places to eat and summers are really nice. No parks or any green around as this was an industrial neighborhood but you get used to it."
- Trulia User
- Resident

"Accessibility to the city by public transport makes this a central neighborhood. It also makes it a bedroom community. There aren’t no great institutions in this neighborhood: no museums, libraries, nor large performance stages "
