9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur son started his first year of school here this year in Mrs. Woods' K class. From our first experience through til now, my wife and I have been amazed and so grateful to have such wonderful teachers and staff at this school. Walking to school each morning we join up with all the parents and kids on their way into the complex and it's such a great and involved community. The field trip, projects, PTA meetings, and regular email updates all allow the parents to be hugely involved with their children's education and daily life. This school is the best!Parent Review8y ago - Portsmouth Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am an 8th-grade student, and I love this school just about as much as you can love school. Almost all the teachers I know are so kind and encouraging to get your work done. I've seen students have disagreements and fight, but that's not to say it was the teachers'/adults' fault or that the school is bad. If people are going to write reviews saying it is "unprofessional" then they can provide evidence of that case because I see none. Both principals are so kind and generous, and always think through what's best for everyone. I have really enjoyed going to this school for almost 3 years, as I have made friends, found favorite teachers, and have taken classes that teach me, which I want to take. If a student ends up with a schedule they don't like, guidance counselors will offer their best solution to fix the issue. There are always people there for kids to talk to whether it's a school therapist or a trusted teacher. I will never forget Portsmouth Middle school, as I hope every kid going through their experiences joy and finds the correct path for them to follow. - March 16, 2022Student Review2y ago - Portsmouth High School

"A lot of people don’t like when you don’t have a tall enough fence for your dog and or when they’re barking, they might call animal control for a dog noise complaint. Over all everyone in the neighborhood is very friendly and would always lend a helping hand when needed."

"Don't have a dog so can't imagine. Don't want a dog right now, so not bothered. Dogs are great, it's just the owner that cause the problems. I think dogs and their owners would be better off elsewhere! "

"Dogs are out walking a lot, but theres few areas to take them. The public park bans dogs, theres only 1 restaurant that allows them on the patio, the beaches are off limit for dogs between sunrise and sunset... You definitely have to get creative or travel for your dog to actually run. "
