8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended Oak Prairie during our six years in Lockport, IL. She was very happy at this school, and well-liked by her teachers. The staff were supportive, easy to communicate with, sensible, and kind. They enforced good codes of conduct and the instructors made learning fun and engaging. My daughter went on many choir field trips and was able to engage with her instructors in ways that made her feel heard and appreciated. As parents we were kept well abreast of our daughter's academic progress and were alerted immediately to any issues/concerns that needed to be addressed. In all, a great learning environment for our child.Parent Review2mo ago - Reed Elementary School

"As long as you pick up your dogs poop, you wont have a problem with any of the neighborhood. There is also a big park that you can take your dog to to play. But if you have a Pit Bull, the neighbor hood will literally give you the most trouble. I had a pit and everybody hated her because they thought shed attack, but a dog acts only as rhe dog owner trains them 🤷🏻♀️."

"There are a lot of nice areas to walk your dog but you'll have to keep your dog on a leash. I wish there was a dog park! Or somewhere to let your dog run around."

"Great neighborhood. I grew up in Lockport and seen it grow. I honestly liked it more when it was low traffic, but still a great safe place to live. I am only moving soon because of work opportunities else where. My mom will be keeping the house and has no plans on leaving this wonderful town."

"Big dog town, there are a lot bulky breeds and most people here have the sense to know it’s how you raise a dog and no problems. You see Pitbulls or bully breeds with family and kids all the time and at the parks no biggie. Definitely pick up after your dog this is a definite requirement. "

"It is “up and coming”. What I like about Lockport is that I always know how long it will take me to get to a certain place. I do not need to plan around traffic. Except you do not want to be stuck on the Lockport bridge at 4pm. "
