  • Philomena Npoles
"It is not friendly and very hard to know any neighbors we have tried to set an example for each of the holidays but my family is aloalone in their endeavors it is very lonely and we have here almost 20 years and hope to move back to Orland park "
  • Hartleysherri35
"great town to raise your kids in or just know you're safe and will be happy living here. the town is building up like crazy since I was a kid. my parents raised 7 children here. you'll love it"
  • Brandi W.
"I work in lockport so my commute is short. there are a handful of bus stops around though although I feel most people who live here have their own transportation as i hardly see anyone at the bus stops. "
  • Ryanmac1999
"I don't usually commute too much. I work close to home. the roads in lockport are well maintained and there are plenty of gas stations, restaurants and other amenities around"
  • Jschley
"None that I know of, have been living here less than a year, but neighborhood is friendly. Most decorate for the holidays and very active with walking dogs and exercising. "
  • Kelly C.
"Yes! I see dog owners walking their dogs all of the time . I also see dog owners taking their dogs out to open fields to run around. This is a very dog-friendly neighborhood! "
  • Kelly C.
"I’ve been living here for approximately two years and we love it. It’s a great family-friendly neighborhood. "
  • Briana I. O.
"As long as you pick up your dogs poop, you wont have a problem with any of the neighborhood. There is also a big park that you can take your dog to to play. But if you have a Pit Bull, the neighbor hood will literally give you the most trouble. I had a pit and everybody hated her because they thought shed attack, but a dog acts only as rhe dog owner trains them 🤷🏻‍♀️."
  • Briana I. O.
"nothing at all. lockport literally sucks. the only thing cool here is canal days. everything else is trash."
  • Luis R.
"From the city to the suburbs I honestly could say I love this neighborhood! People are kind, and our nearest Walmart is just a 3 minute drive away! This place is honestly amazing!"
  • Bri O.
"There is a big park by the border of Lockport and Joliet. there is many places and pathas to walk your dog."
  • Jessica B. E.
"Love the area but over priced. Schools are great. Don’t move around dell wood park. High school is over crowded "
  • Jessica B. E.
"Wonderful area to raise family’s in just price point is a little too high when you go out south more and get bigger bang for your buck. "
  • Mary S.
"There are a lot of nice areas to walk your dog but you'll have to keep your dog on a leash. I wish there was a dog park! Or somewhere to let your dog run around."
  • Lori T
"Yes I have a pitbull and a bulldog and a tri color silky Yorker and a boxer and they loved it. Lots of walking and parks and friendly dog people. It’s very outdoorsy here. Just watch for ticks! "
  • Julie J.
"Not really much that happens in my neighborhood that brings us together as a community. Most keep to themselves "
  • Julie J.
"You can always find a dog being walked on our block on any given day. All of the dogs are on leashes and the owners are pretty good about cleaning up after their dogs."
  • Jlgriffin
"Lockport is right up against 355 making transit to anywhere in the chicagoland area easy. we also have i80 against our south border so transit times are low to basically anywhere."
  • Dnolan408
"Great neighborhood. I grew up in Lockport and seen it grow. I honestly liked it more when it was low traffic, but still a great safe place to live. I am only moving soon because of work opportunities else where. My mom will be keeping the house and has no plans on leaving this wonderful town."
  • Sumblkguy5
"there are a lot of homes and people in this neighborhood. close to the park as well. most people are friendly around here "
  • Rob G.
"Quick access to the highway (355 & 80) makes for an easy morning commute. Traffic isn’t bad except for 159th (7) during rush hour. "
  • Mslaulei
"Big dog town, there are a lot bulky breeds and most people here have the sense to know it’s how you raise a dog and no problems. You see Pitbulls or bully breeds with family and kids all the time and at the parks no biggie. Definitely pick up after your dog this is a definite requirement. "
  • Akatorres
"Good place to live. Good taco place down the street. Very good. Truly excellent tacos. Did I mention the tacos? Good neighborhood and tacos."
  • Mattcedo

  • Jtaskay
"I've lived in this neighboorhood for 18 years. it is a nice quiet and trusting neighborhood. neighbors are always helping each other out."
  • Ttabisz
"It is “up and coming”. What I like about Lockport is that I always know how long it will take me to get to a certain place. I do not need to plan around traffic. Except you do not want to be stuck on the Lockport bridge at 4pm. "
