Description

This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from August 28, 2022
This rarely available Glover Park home features both a deep lot and garage parking, in addition to plenty of space throughout the interior of the house. The front porch has a ceiling fan and overlooks the landscaped front yard. The windows throughout the home provide ample natural light, and all three levels feature hardwood floors. Designed for easy entertaining, the spacious living room has new recessed lightning and contains a wood burning fireplace, and opens up into a separate dining area and kitchen. The kitchen has plenty of cabinetry, granite countertops, and gas cooking. The dining room has a sliding glass door that steps out onto the sizable deck, which is made from durable Brazilian hardwood. This home distinguishes itself in particular by a large back yard, which is perfect for kid's playtime, pets, and socially distanced entertaining. In addition to its size, which itself is very rare for the neighborhood, the yard is also beautifully landscaped, and the trees include a stunning Japanese Cherry Blossom and Japanese Maple. Behind the back yard is a large detached garage, which is wider than most other garages in the neighborhood and can easily hold a large SUV. Upstairs, three well-proportioned bedrooms await, with a renovated hallway bathroom that boasts a spa shower panel with a rain shower head and massage water jets, overhead shower heater, three generously sized medicine cabinets for storage, glass tiled backsplash, and a raised skylight pouring in light. The fully finished lower level hosts a large family room with recessed lighting, and a separate den with a second full bathroom, suitable for a home office or guest space. The family room leads to a third porch on the lower level, which is fully screened and has a slate patio floor, ceiling fan, and recessed lighting, for additional outdoor entertaining. The house also has a significant amount of closet space throughout, for easy storage. The house sits near the edge of Glover Archbold Park, and is just a few blocks from Guy Mason Recreation Center and playground, two public swimming pools, multiple fitness centers, restaurants and coffee shops, grocery stores (including a new Trader Joe's, Safeway, and forthcoming Whole Foods), shopping, and multiple daycare centers opening soon. Garage sold as-is.

  • Miranda
"I've lived here for four years. The area is a mix of families, young professionals, and students. It's not a hot spot for nightlife, but there's enough selection of restaurants and a few bars, and everything you really need (like groceries, a pharmacy, etc.) is here. It's very green and walkable, with lots of trees, well-kept front yards, and parks. It makes a great base, as both Virginia and other areas of DC are easily accessible by bus or car. Meanwhile, Glover Park is free of the noise, crowds, and traffic of some of those other areas."
