4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGood school, caring teachers and staff. The principal Ms Vardoumian has done a great job at this school Curriculum is good, and and plenty of activities for the kids. School has a close knit community feel to it. Working classs families that want to see they're chilldren succeed. My daughter attends this school and we're very happy with our decision to enroll her here. Keep up the good work Valerio!Parent Review2y ago - Panorama High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been pleasantly surprised by this school! I was initially concerned based on the area and neighborhoods. The staff I have encountered thus far are so very helpful and pleasant, and eager to solve any issue they can. The athletics department is AWESOME! The school has so much spirit and pride, and while it's obvious at times that some of the families may not have a lot of money or resources, their children make up for it in kindness and manners. Each time I have been on camps the students were so nice and polite and courteous, FAR more so than I've seen in other more affluent neighborhoods. The campus is gorgeous, and very functional and well maintained. Our child has been treated well, by staff and students alike and it's a wonderful breath of fresh air! Money and fancy neighborhoods do NOT a good school make. I am so happy we chose Panorama!Parent Review11y ago - Robert Fulton College Preparatory School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve been here for 5 years now (6-10th grade) and I’ve really enjoyed my education here. All the teachers are super nice, they are very patient, they go out of their way to help you out during lunch to help better understand the lessons. But there is some bad things about this school like too much food going to waste, When people go to lunch and only want the juice/milk they are forced to get the whole lunch tray and when they take it, they throw away all the food in the trash, there is an absurd amount of untouched food in the trash bins. And one more thing, every year I go back there are less classrooms for the middle school side of the campus, there is an Elementary school (Not Fulton) taking over the classrooms and the middle schoolers are being put in High school classrooms and high schoolers from those classrooms are being crammed into other High school Classrooms, and it’s giving teachers too many students.Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 15236 Runnymede St.

What Locals Say about Van Nuys
- Adam Harman
- Resident

"Very walkable streets and high dog population neighborhood. Lots of people out walking in the evenings on a nice day, many with baby strollers, dogs or both."
- Adam Harman
- Resident

"We moved to this neighborhood as a predominate work-from-home location. It’s a good community with lots of lot space where even in heavy commuter traffic you can get to the west side in ~45 mins. This feels especially satisfying compared to further out communities that people go for similar space but require 1-1.5 hour commutes each way."
- Adam Harman
- Resident

"Neighborhood has yearly events, such as a holiday get together and the area draws a lot of people for Halloween festivities. There’s a number of young families that have come into the area in the past couple years and there’s good above average interaction and playtime amongst them, compared to other areas of Los Angeles from experience."
- Daisy De La Rosa

"Car is required. You can’t move around freely if you don’t have a car. But there is public transportation if you are willing to put up with it."
- Trulia User

"There are so many happy dog walkers in my neighborhood. But homeless people are lining the periphery. "

"Very friendly neighborhood and kid and pet friendly, in zip code 91406 the streets get re-paved like every two years or so, kids go out trick or treating, decorations are put up and taken down on time, I’ve lived 20 years here and the prices of homes have gone up more than twice of what we got it for."
- Trulia User

"live in a safe area for our children, where we have many things at hand, and above all a school for them. "

"I’ve lived here for 2 years and have witnessed over 30 major car accidents. Buildings set ablaze by homeless, trees as well. No dog owner ever picks up their dog. And everyone speeds on most streets."
- Trulia User

"No parking and some people have their broken down cars sitting there and take up 3 car spaces to save parking. "

"Van Nuys is a community full of wonderful people and families that appreciate their homes. Unfortunately, the city does not do enough to keep public area/settings clean nor well-kept. Streets are never cleaned, sidewalks dirty, roads/potholes are rarely fixed. It’s a shame to see how neglected this great city is. "

"There's a lot of traffic and you basically have to run red lights to get anywhere. It's loud too. Sirens constantly go off at all times of night. I live above a bus stop so I have to listen to crack heads yell at each other all night too. Don't move here. "

"Lack of green spaces, loud planes and traffic noises (ambulances, fire trucks etc) lack of poop bag stations while walking"

- Trulia User

"I've lived in van Nuys for a year and just like every city in California it has it's good spots, If you move here move closer towards Sherman oaks area its much better, and safer for kids. the closer you get to panorama city and Reseda the more you will hear helicopters and see more crime"

"The county doesn’t care about our community. The only special event is the Wednesday low riders on Van Nuys. "
- Jayy C.

- Cesia
- Resident

"I've lived in this neighborhood 20 years, almost my whole life. It definitely gives me cozy vibes and just makes me think of family- good food, sometimes disorganized & loud, but pretty much harmless. It's definitely right in the middle of Sherman Oaks & Panorama City in many ways. "If you know, you know"."
- Hasani.sinclair
- Resident
- 4y ago
"To be quite honest, this doesn’t feel like an ideal neighborhood in which to raise a child, or at least, not my particular street. The smaller streets would be much more ideal"
- Violet E.
- Resident
- 4y ago
"Not really a "neighborhood" type of area. Everyone keeps to their own, but if you strike up a conversation they will gladly be polite and talk with you"
- V90

"This neighborhood is currently attracting allot of restless and invasive homeless people lately. At night there is allot of police activity going too."
- Transplant

"Not a very safe neighborhood. Officer involved shooting in front of my home and they closed down access to the street until the following day. Lots of prostitution and drug addicts roaming around "
- Bkny

"People dump wherever they want. Shootings close by. People are loud. Cheap rent is the best part. Otherwise, it doesn’t feel too safe. "
