6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible school to work for. Students, specially 8th. Graders, along with parents are the ones manipulating the school. Students do whatever they want. Leaders prefer to attack faculty rather than face aggressive parents. Specialist will press teachers to pass students with educational disabilities, instead of support students’ needs. Not an ethical posture.Teacher Review1mo ago - Ocean Beach Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school- The staff truly cares about the students which I really loved! When I went there it was really fun and I felt like throughout the years of me going there, there was really a big message all the teachers really preach which is 'Be kind!' we even sang a song called Catch the Wave in the morning that talks about respect and stuff like that (which all the students love singing.) I went there in the past and it is an awesome elementary school :)))Other Review1y ago - Point Loma High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWas a bit skeptical about sending my child to the PL cluster for Middle School. (Current 5th Grader.) I have been amazed how well my child has done. The changes in leadership were a bit scary at the beginning of the school year, however the team they have in place for long term is going to be great! Excited to see how they shape the next version of Dana. John is a caring and great leader. With his experience and vision, I see this becoming an even better middle school experience for the 5th & 6th graders in PL.Parent Review4w ago - Check out schools near 4825 W Point Loma Blvd.

"Getting in and out of town at certain times is rough. There are only a few streets that go in and out of ocean beach so late morning and 5pm the traffic is heavy. Wednesday is the worst at night because of the farmers market"

"I love living near the beach and the tranquility of a small neighborhood. Here's everything close, like bars, markets, restaurants."
- Slaughead

"There are several dog friendly places in OB...in the negative side of that, there are also some “bad apples” that are irresponsible pet owners that do not clean up consistently behind their pets which I often fear is going to result in the restrictions of this acceptance/privilege that is extended to them by the community and that unfortunately I predict will start with rental properties not allowing for pets. "

"Lots of dogs here, it is a very dog-friendly area. Within a few miles you have dog beach, fiesta Island which is the largest off-leash area we have ever seen and a couple other smaller dog parks. Most restaurants that have outdoor seating welcome pups as well as offer special dog menu items. OB loves dogs!"

"It’s amazing. Close to the beach and good restaurants and food. The rents are pretty reasonable for the location and it’s a small town beach vibe. "

"Ocean Beach is the quintessential small beach town with all the updated perks of modern living. Yes, there are some areas with tons of party type people / atmosphere. However, the residential streets away from Newport Ave with long-term residents, offer a peaceful living atmosphere with mature tree lined streets ... all with ocean views or walking distance too. Most old school residents are respectful and have a care for our earth vibe and keep clean yards and homes. The OB primary school is the cutest little school I've seen! The families are involved and the children seem happy. OB is close to all major freeways, downtown San Diego, Airport, Border, Sea World, and is in the center of it all. You do not need a car here. Public transportation, biking, walking, to all here is a breeze."

"I wouldn't say that it's unique at all. It's great being close to the beach, but it's the noisiest neighborhood I've EVER lived in. There are some nice people, but most are very loud, rude and always partying. And I can can hear every car and loud motorcycle that goes by. "
