5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student at this school and I’ll tell you my experience, although it won’t be enough space to explain. I only went to this school for 2017-2018, only one year so it might’ve changed. I’m going to make this simple as possible. Okay #1 Negativity was a huge prob for me. Everyone was always cursing, hurting each other, getting bad grades, etc. This school was super violent in my opinion. There was a student choking others, almost killing them. There was always fights. #2 Sexual Harrasement. There was too much sexual harrasement, there was something “special” for each day except Monday. For example, Thursday is slap thigh Thursday. That is the only most appropriate one. The rest were much more sexual and it’s pretty much sexual assault. It includes touching others in private areas. I am a victim of this behavior. #3 Teachers. Teachers were doing fine at their job but they didn’t really take care of the negativity, there was always bullying and cursing and so much abuse they didn’t catch. Sometimes they suspected something but they were either blind or just tolerated with it. Kids kept doing the same thing. Obviously teachers and staff did give punishments like detentions, suspensions, etc. But they were mostly blind. I really didn’t like this school, don’t send your child at this school, unless it actually got better after I left. The rating just keeps going down and up so now I don’t even know. Okay have a nice day and thank you for taking your time to read! Bye!Student Review5y ago - San Juan High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn 1980, the San Juan Alumni Association was formed to support San Juan High School. The alumni and faculty of San Juan High pay annual dues and make donations to help support San Juan High. Since 1980, over $300,000 has been awarded in Scholarship to the students of San Juan High. No other public high school in the Sacramento has this type of support system. The SJAA puts on All-Class Picnic every two years. We have some very successful alumni from San Juan High, and we mentor the students that they can be successful in any field they choose with a little hard work. Our alumni, volunteer on campus, make personal donations to the various needs at San Juan High, and attend and support many on campus events. We believe in San Juan High, its faculty, its students, and support it in any way we can.
