"lots of dog poop, some homeless. inexpensive. At times I hear music from the nearby bars or yelling from the distance. lots of small businesses and an antique looking neighborhood. Parks seem nice and recent construction has improved the area"

"My home is centrally located but once you attempt to leave the area it’s terrible. Rush hour out of Tacoma is a nightmare. I work in south king county and it takes me 1.5 hrs to get home on Fridays. "

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey have the greatest Pre School and Kindergarten teachers! They are passionate and care so much as out every child. They are not afraid to step outside of the box to be effective teachers. I really am not a fan of public schools but I have been proven wrong. Mrs Laurie and Mrs Patty are amazing. Mrs Häuser is also anther great teacher. Both of my kids needed early intervention and I could not be happier with the results they have received here!Parent Review7y ago - Edison

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is a no tolerance policy for bullyiing, but it is not enforced against the ones doing the bullying. The children being bullied are the ones who are supposed to have the problem and they are punished. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVisitation STEM Academy is an amazing place for children. The teachers are absolutely amazing. My daughter has been there for 4 years. I am truly amazed at the growth I have seen in her. She is very confident, articulate and loves to learn. She looks forward to going to school every day. I know my daughter is not just another face in a classroom. The entire school staff, teachers and students know her and care about her. It is a true community who helps one another. My son went to public school in University Place district which is a great school district and he did well but I have to be honest that I can see and feel the difference between Visitation and public school. My daughter is given the opportunity to keep advancing beyong her level of grade to stay challenged and continued growth. Last year my daughters kindergarten teacher came to her birthday party at Pump It Up which made my daughters day as she so wanted her to be there. I also love that my daughter is learning about faith regardless of what each persons beliefs are the one thing that is constant is treating others with respect, caring about each other and learning by example!Parent Review10y ago - Sound Christian Academy

Great communication throughout the admissions process, they answered any and all questions and concerns, they are very organized, and our daughter’s teacher clearly loves being here! Every activity we attend makes us grateful we moved our girls here from public school, the opportunities to thrive are endless. We have loved the smaller class sizes, less time on computers, art, chapel, and regular family activities.
