Excelsior

The few months that my child has been here has been awful. Unless you have a “easy child”. They will be quick to make your child an enigma. They will not offer support or try to work with you. Yet if you decide to un enroll they will just about catapult the papers at you to sign. I’ve just never met a classroom of teachers who hated their job so much. Yet thought teaching pre schoolers would be “easy”. I truly hope this principal decides to take her job seriously and do something about this. Instead of using the excuse that head start is a separate program. Thankfully this is our last week here, and my child is thrilled to leave.

My two older children went to the school for a bit and it's been okay had some hiccups but nothing too bad with my youngest (special needs)he just got placed at the end of last school year in the school since we moved when we were trying to enroll him we were told by the front office staff that we had to find a specialized school for him since they were not allowed to change him since he was not potty trained mind you my child is level 3 autistic and they had a special needs classroom but the front office staff was adamant that they legally could not take my child then they flipped it I called another neighboring School about enrolling my child and they couldn't understand why my child couldn't go to the school that was zoned for my home when I explained it to them they called the FHE and the front office staff then called me back and told me that they didn't understand why I called the other school even though they told me to call the other schools since they in fact could not take my child they then went on to say that I twisted their words even though I don't understand how you could twist (legally cannot touch your child)after that we had more and more issues and I just don't want to send my child back to the school because I do not know if he truly is getting the carry needs his teacher was amazing and you can tell she was also fed up with the staff at the front office as they did not do their jobs well there were times where they didn't tell the teacher that there was no special needs bus coming to pick up the children so the teacher stood outside with the children for a really long time trying to get them on their bus when it was never going to show up and the office staff knew that for several hours that the bus was not going to show up There was an instance where my child was missing for 45 minutes I called the school and they said that they didn't have a child by that name at the school I spelled it out for them three times they still said that I did not have a child that went there by that name I then called the district office district office called them back and it turns out that they did have my child in that school and they stated that they were looking at the wrong students file which didn't make sense to me but okay his bus was sitting in traffic due to an accident the driver did not call the school nor did he called his management to let them know what was going on for a student without disabilities or IEP this is a good school

My son attended here for half of his 2nd grade school year then I pulled him after he had been bullied for over a week and the staff did not tell me. I informed them of what was happening but my son was too scared to be honest to the counselor. His teacher was kind and put in a lot of effort with him but the lack of awareness and parent communication from the rest of the staff left my son at risk of physical harm.
