"Accessible to local Walmart and grocery store. Near hiking trails. Family friendly. Family desirable. Many dog owners, yet a few complaints about barking. A bit of a wait for snowplows and power goes out every so oftbe"

"I don't personally know my neighbors, don't even know most of their names. But they know my car and I know theirs and we always exchange a smile and wave when passing by. It's a simple gesture that makes me feel like welcome. "

"My neighborhood has pretty good transportation! There are bus stops just down the street. Most everything else you do need a car for though. "

"I like that I’m only a mile from several stores and walking distance to Audubon Park. Neatly kept houses and kids playing. Dogs only in fenced yards. "

"There's not really any community events aside from school and church functions, however, the people in the neighborhood are friendly and look after one another. We have kids between the ages of 7 and 14, so the schools being close enough to walk is a plus!"

"I've lived here 8 years. The people here watch out for each other. You can take a bus everywhere you need to go if you don't have a car. Everything you would need is close by but the area isn't too congested."

"I lived in this neighborhood for 21 years and it was the best years of my life. Great friendly neighbors who are willing to help out, like when we had that big power outage in Spokane people in this neighborhood had extension chords running acrossed the street in order to lend power to those who didn't have it. I wouldn't trade the years I spent in this neighborhood for any amount of money."

"Spokane is a small, big city, just right. Downtown has Riverfront Park which is family oriented with it's famous carousal, IMAX, skating rink. (A world's fair was held here, so we have lots of beautiful clean parks, activities and entertainment. I love living here!"

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average5 out of 5! I have two kids at Finch and have loved every teacher. Both of my kids have needed extra help with reading and the school recognized and adressed it immediately. My kids have improved so much. There's such a great parent community and there are a ton of great extra curricular options as well. They feel right at home and the school feels safe and loving.Parent Review2y ago7 Reviews - Westview Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile the PTA is very strong at this school the focus is academia only, the concept of teaching a love of learning, active play, and even recess is once a day for all grades. Zero elements are in place to support children with bullying and working through problems since the efforts are mostly test scores and meeting standards. Each kid hated school severely after attending and won't go back. Several parents I've talked to have had similar experiences. The admin needs to change before this school can thrive.Parent Review3y ago5 Reviews - Westgate Christian School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attended Westgate Christian School for 8 years. The teachers are wonderful, challenging him in areas he excelled, even giving him curriculum for the next grade up in one subject when he worked hard to earn it. The school families get to know each other well with opportunities for carpooling and chaperoning field trips. There are lots of parents and grandparents that volunteer one on one with kids too, so if they are struggling with certain areas, they have the opportunity for help. They are also aware and careful about kids with severe food allergies.Parent Review11y ago2 Reviews - St Charles Catholic School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt’s refreshing to find a Catholic school that focuses on what is important - teaching students how to read, write and do math, all intertwined with the truth, goodness, and beauty of the Catholic faith. Teaching is done in the rhetorical style, so the children are engaged. They are held accountable here, not enabled. They will study Latin and grammar, and the beauty of nature studies. They will be exposed to classical and sacred music. Children will learn the history of Western Civilization and why it matters. Classrooms are clean and orderly and free from distraction. The school offers an authentic pre-K Montessori program that fits well with a classical model of teaching. The St. Charles leadership understands the end goal of developing children who can think critically and live out the Catholic faith - and strive for sainthood. Grateful St. Charles is an option for our family.Other Review6mo ago9 Reviews
