"Research your street before moving. Some streets are fine and feel generally safe, others you couldn't pay me to visit at night, especially alone. be diligent, do your research."

"10 minutes or less. Lots of route options. I drive. Going to the airport is more tough. I usually take the rail but it takes an hour or so. "

"I don’t see many dogs being walked around my neighborhood. Lots of concrete, not much green. There are trees but I haven’t seen many dogs. Only once in a while. "

"The area around Seattle U feels safe with the security guards on campus and the police station a couple blocks away. It’s quiet most days but the weekends get crazy in the Pike/Pine/Broadway area. It’s not uncommon for to hear thumping music from neighbors in the buildings adjacent to the school. Not a whole lot of children around but sometimes people will bring their kids to the lawns at SU. "It's a great place to live, allowing you don't mind hipsters or homeless. The air smells of body odor and marijuana smoke. The streets are lined with old volvos and other obscure old cars, all of which take up the extremely limited parking. But that's fine, you don't need a car, you'll walk everywhere right. Nope, not without being accosted for change at every corner. Ride a bicycle then. Nope, all your money will go to medical bills for getting run over by the old volvos that take up all the parking. And that's not even the best part, who wouldn't want to pay $3000 for a studio apartment. It really doesn't get much better than Capitol Hill. Seattle : where the streets are paved with syringes."

"I have lived in this neighbor for over 17 years and my current location is great! Just blocks away from amazing restaurants, dance bars and all the stores that you need to live in action, arts, theatre and music packed Seattle. Parks within two blocks, dog friendly and totally walkable. "

"My location is right between Capitol Hill, Madison Park and Madison Valley, as well as a quick drive to the Central District. I am seconds away from Safeway and some really cute local bars and small restaurants! It's also a straight shot to work, which is great, by bus or car. The neighborhood is up and coming and it's been nice to see improvements and developments to make it more charming. I don't necessarily want to be wandering around late at night but it's getting safer. There are some very cute parks around too!"

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHAVE YOU HEARD about the Classical Education renaissance! Kids ruminating on 'self' and getting caught up in politics is harmful and hard to get away from in schools these days. SCCS develops thinkers engaged in vigorous and joyous conversation among peers and their non activist teachers. Mastery is cultivated by adults that model respect for boundaries, love of family and importance of parents. Our children enjoy fieldtrips and healthy competitiveness of the SCCS House System. Students observe, try and make mistakes and are driven by the reward that comes from working hard as they develop trust, self-control and the skills to persevere. Great books are read, music is sung, debate is encouraged, art is made, history is valued, science is explored, movement is mandatory, cursive is flowing, math is mastered, theater is performed, service is celebrated and paper and pencil are used. THIS is how children grow up to be productive adults with a confident dose of self awareness.Parent Review1y ago16 Reviews - Seattle Classical Christian School
