"I drive in my own car to and from work everyday. I honestly don't know if there are bus stops within the neighborhood. I didn't know neighborhood existed until a few weekends ago just driving around and seeing if another way I can get home and just enjoying the scenery"

"I’m not really sure if we have neighborhood events. I’ve never been invited nor have I seen a flyer. This neighborhood is for older people so I don’t really expect those kind of events. However, it is nice and quiet and the neighbors are friendly. "

"I think it’s a nice neighborhood however I think the houses are to close to each other. Everything is convenient and it’s super close to Fort Eustis. "

"Nothing. It’s a typical apartment complex. Wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s convenient. Near the army and base and Close to the interstate. "

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am extremely concerned about the safety and learning environment in this school. Disruptive students are allowed to remain in the classroom to continue to disrupt. The entire class is punished for the behavior of a few. The students are made to run laps because of those who disrespect the teacher and other students. No effective classroom management techniques are utilized. Students are not issued books because all learning is now on laptops. No homework is assigned because the students are not allowed to bring the laptops home. This has been a bad year for students in one particular 4th grade class because the teacher is not in charge in her classroom. I feel sad for the students who must suffer through this on a daily basis. The administrators at this school are blind to the problems even though this is an open classroom school. All they have to do is leave the safety of their offices and walk down the hall. I predict low SOL. Scores for Dutrow. I would not recommend this school to anyone.Other Review1y ago10 Reviews - Horace H. Epes Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy sons went here and we had nothing but issues. One of my children almost died in their care and they didn’t even issue an apology or check on him for two weeks. My other child was suspended after being assaulted even though the video shows he didn’t start the fight. If you can don’t send your kids here!!Parent Review5y ago12 Reviews - Lee Hall Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth, my daughter and son attended Lee Hall Elementary school from kindergarten through fifth grade and, every teacher they’ve had was fantastic. The teachers at this school are passionate (they don’t teach for recognition or a paycheck. This is obvious the moment you enter the school building). They are caring, attentive, helpful and dedicated, constantly displaying professionalism. They communicate with the parents and they truly care about the children. Administrators are also very helpful and engaged. I would say that the students’ input preceds the output and the results. I believe that rating a school by the test scores is not fair. With that being said, Lee Hall Elementary is a great school (in my humble opinion). Oh, and not to forget the awesome PTA that organized several amazing after-school events and supported students and their needs. It is hard to believe that the school year is over and my son will be moving up to middle school. We will miss this school very much.Parent Review6y ago19 Reviews - R.O. Nelson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis has been by far the worst school system my children have attended. The lack of organization and putting children first are almost non-existent. My children will receive a much better education attending Virginia Virtual Academy.Parent Review6y ago9 Reviews - T. Ryland Sanford Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is a new student at jenkins elementary and my daughter had came off the bus saying the teacher was being very mean to her on first day and continues being mean to my child for no Reason. daughter had just started this new school and it is already showing me signs that they don't like accountability. I had went up there address the issues still no feedback at all. Also me and my daughter didn't feel welcome. Please don't send your child here.
