I think this is a great community and appreciate all the hard work Spotswood staff have done. I recommend this school

They do not care about your child, they care about meeting their numbers and that’s it. Avoid this school if your child is behind or needs any sort of additional instruction. My son tested behind the entire school year, I received a letter to have a meeting to hold him back (which I was on board with), we had the meeting and then he magically tested on track and they said he was ready for 1st grade. I told them he needs another year of kindergarten and they refused to allow him. He is still learning to write the alphabet, behind on reading, and would really benefit from the extra instruction of doing kindergarten again but they just want to push him through rather than do what’s best for him.

FA is a great place for students to excel in academics. Our oldest child went to FA and was very happy at that school. Our second child found a different experience students with learning or emotional struggles are not given the necessary support. students were often times very cliquish and our second child was often alienated in and out of the classroom. Many teachers did little to nothing to stop this bullying. If your child does have some emotional or learning disabilities and is an introvert, they may not find this place acceptable. If your child thrives in challenging environments than this is the school for you

While we enjoy some aspects of the school others are less than encouraging. We are Christians and appreciate the Biblical principles the school offers. On other notes teachers are hit or miss. The bullying in upper grades is the same or worse than public school. While I am about discipline. The teachers and staff are quick to jump to opinions instead of understanding the student. The office staff are not consistent. I wish we had others options but we do not.

A few wonderful teachers did not make up for the poor location and poor administrative policies of the school. For such a small school we expected more of a collaborative family atmosphere. The board is self appointed and does not change and parents are left with no say in decisions for the school and their children.
